After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World novel Chapter 1693

Chapter 1693: Another War Ended

Less than three hours after the war started, Inkitt received the dreaded announcement.

Ding!

[Inko Village (Lv3) has lost to Limestone Valley Village (Lv3)]

Inkitt shot up from his seat inside their hiding place. "WHAT? ALREADY!? Nononono—" he screamed, panicked. He didn’t have money now. Nothing left even after the support he received from Voumi!

He was planning on selling slaves to replenish his gold but now they were gone too! DAMNIT! DAMNIT!!!

He grabbed his hair, eyes reddish from excessive emotions. It was here that someone next to him spoke.

"We can take revenge, Milord, as long as we have the token."

Inkitt flinched, and realized he was right. "Ah, yes. As long as I had the token, yes..." He then shakily took out the token he hid thoroughly under his pants. "As long as I am the Lord, I will get my reve—"

SLASH!

Inkitt didn’t even realize what happened. He just fell down, looked up at the man looking down at him, and then... he lost everything.

...

Gurnam coolly took the token and headed up. He used his element to hit the guards from the back, and soon his teammates arrived to help him smooth things out.

There were still 25 hours to go before the war officially ended, so they still had to be careful. People could still attack and they could still be attacked. For now, he still appeared to be a guard of Inko, and he casually proceeded to the walls and jumped down.

None among the defending side even saw him. They were too busy covering their own heads. The sentries didn’t attack him either as he was a temporary citizen as well.

Anyway, he was heading out to meet someone. The Token, as per instruction, was to be given to either Henry or Victor, whoever they decided would handle it.

He saw Henry first, who was outside helping out. He was among those who were past the level cap and could only defend those going in.

"You got it?" the old man said, swiping down a monster that harassed their area. "Good job."

And then he looked at the Token with a decidedly unenthusiastic face.

Inko’s satellite was Juno Village so whoever took the token would get two villages. Most people would be ecstatic, but they dreaded the responsibility.

If he was a bit younger, maybe, sure. And maybe if they were living in the land of peace without beasts and hostiles coming through every so often.

Who didn’t want their own land? But now, they were already living comfortably. This place was too unstable, as well. Who wanted problems?

If outsiders were to know how tokens were literally thrown around in this region, they’d definitely pull out their hair.

In the end, he got someone who could go through the array to pass it on to his son, who was guarding the home territory.

And so, in the guise of ’I’m too old for this’, the token was thrown to Victor’s lap.

Look what happened to Vanessa. Would she grow so crooked if they had been there to guide her properly?
