A couple more days passed by, and while the Alterran group of territories was quietly preparing for an attack, the Town received some of the awaited visitors.

One of these was Elron, who arrived with his family. He was strong—a proper guard of a City noble—and the town mobs weren’t a big problem for them even when they walked there.

And since they were coming South from Hubble Town, they interestingly encountered a caravan group from a place called Yassof Village.

They met right outside the walls as part of the queue heading inside.

"So many people..." his wife, Lisa, said, as she looked at the long queue that followed a nice black road that was so easy to walk on.

Speaking of this black road, his son was young and low-level. Normally, after a distance, he’d need to be carried. When they reached this black road, walking was so much easier that the child was still on foot until now.

They learned to walk at the side, however, after realizing that beast carts go through here, coming in from both sides.

While they lined up, they also couldn’t help but listen to the surrounding chatters, hoping to get more information about the place. Posts could only express so much, after all.

Well, Kalfene was never one for detailed letters anyway, so his message was really straightforward, and they were not sure what exactly to expect.

It so happened that the people behind them in the queue were quite talkative. "Wow, more people are visiting Alterra now..." one said.

"Well, it’s what we expected. They’re just growing so quickly, even faster than we initially thought."

"Did you know? The person behind us is further Southwest from Ferrol! How far has their name gone? They’re expanding influence and I’m so curious what their prestige is now."

"Milord, what about our prestige?" another asked, and it made Elron almost want to turn his head.

Surprisingly, the Lord himself was there. It was pretty unusual to see Lords outside of their territories. After all, their entire territory’s existence depended on them being alive... 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

Yassop looked at his men. "Well, it’s still far from upgrading. But it’s fine. Becoming a town can get dangerous for us if we’re not ready yet."

"Yes, better use this time to gather strength so we can handle that level!"

"I have heard of the terrifying mobs that come during the upgrade. I’m afraid too many will die."

At this, many of the people excited for their village’s upgrade suddenly calmed down. "Perhaps by that time, the young master is ready to help you out."

At the mention of his grandson, Yassop’s expression softened. "That would be the ideal, but I am fine if he couldn’t. I’m just happy he’s talking now and happy that my daughter is finally moving on."

"But, Milord, they can’t be hostages forever, yes?" one asked. "You’d need to get your heir back at some point."

At the very least, they’d be informed adults who would know more than their peers. Making intelligent decisions based on expanded knowledge could never be a disadvantage.

Smack!
