As Lan Yu scrolled to the end of the comments, she couldn’t help but advise Lu Sheng.
"...Shengsheng, maybe you should stop looking. These comments are really infuriating."
Yet, even slandered as she was, Lu Sheng showed no signs of anger or sadness.
"It’s fine," Lu Sheng looked up.
"Even if only one in a hundred of the several hundred thousand people who have seen this Weibo post believes me, or thinks that the matter with Professor Peng might not be as they imagine, then posting this Weibo was meaningful."
As much as she said that, Lan Yu couldn’t help but ask, "So are we just going to do nothing and let these people misunderstand and insult you like this?"
Lu Sheng paused: "Actually, even if I post another Weibo to explain, it wouldn’t be of any use."
"Those who don’t believe me, even if I present undeniable evidence right in front of them, will still refuse to believe and will criticize me from all sorts of angles."
"So, since I have made an effort to explain and some people will take it to heart, let the rest criticize me; it’s not like I’ll lose a piece of flesh over it."
Lan Yu truly felt that Lu Sheng had tremendous psychological resilience.
If it had been her, she would’ve started firing back at those keyboard warriors in the comment section by now, and it would’ve made her furious.
Lu Sheng wasn’t taking this matter to heart, but others were worried about her.
Lu Youming caught wind of the news from somewhere and first came downstairs to Lu Sheng’s room. Shortly after, Lu Youye also rushed down.
Just after Lu Sheng had explained the situation to them briefly, a servant came to relay a message, stating that some of Lu Sheng’s classmates had come to the house.
When they all went to the living room, they found Huo Yu standing at the entrance.
Huo Yu was dressed in a white shirt and dark blue jeans, his features handsome and delicate, his usual quiet and reserved self.
Although many had come to greet him, his gaze was fixed solely on Lu Sheng who stood at the center, his calmness unable to hide his concern.
"I saw your Weibo, are you okay?"
Lu Sheng, guessing that Huo Yu was worried about the impact those comments had on her and that was why he came directly to her house, replied, "I’m fine, come inside first."
So now, Lu Sheng, Lan Yu, Lu Youming, Lu Youye, and the newly arrived Huo Yu were all gathered in the living room.
After discussing together, they unanimously agreed that the only way to turn things around was to find the person who made the post on the internal forum of Beijing University and discover whether the allegations of sexual harassment and attempted rape against Professor Peng were true or not.
If true, they wouldn’t need to worry about Professor Peng anymore, as those guilty of such crimes should be in jail.
But if it was false and Professor Peng was unjustly smeared and deliberately framed — Professor Peng had already been taken to the police station, and it was uncertain whether the police could find the poster. If they could find evidence ahead of time, that would be best.
"The anonymous account that made the post has already been canceled, and the post deleted, can we still find the poster?" Lu Sheng turned to Huo Yu.
As the second-ranked top hacker in CHA, if Huo Yu said he couldn’t find them, then it truly meant they could not be found.
"I can hack into the internal forum of Beijing University, but I can’t restore accounts that have already been canceled from the system backend," Huo Yu paused before continuing, "I can only try my best."
Hearing this, everyone couldn’t help but sigh.
Time flew by, and it was already late afternoon when Jiang Ting invited Lan Yu and Huo Yu to stay for dinner at the house.
As night fell, the doorbell at home rang. Lu Sheng and Lu Youming exchanged glances, knowing Jiang Yusheng had arrived.
Jiang Yusheng, upon seeing his sister as he entered, was in a reasonably good mood, making some small talk.
However, as soon as he entered the dining room and saw Lu Sheng sitting there too, his face immediately dropped.
"Tingting, what’s going on here?" Jiang Yusheng’s face turned extremely ugly in an instant, "Didn’t you say you would lock up this Lu Sheng in a room? Why is she sitting here as well?"
