After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 892

Natalie was getting frustrated when she realized Nana wasn’t giving in at all. “You just missed your shot at a better job. You’ll never make any real money, not if you keep following Isabella. Her company’s going to crash and burn eventually, you know.”

She leaned in, her tone sharper. “When that happens and you’re out of work, don’t come crawling to me asking for a job.”

Nana just looked at her, calm and unbothered. “I’m not out here trying to get rich. I just want a peaceful life. Natalie, what did our company ever do to you? Why do you keep wishing it would go under?”

She paused, her voice steady. “You should be careful. Bad wishes have a way of coming back around. What if it’s your company that shuts down instead?”

“And even if I do lose my job, I’d never go begging you for help. Trust me, you don’t have to worry about that.”

Natalie’s face turned red with irritation. “You!”

She spun away and stormed back to the sofa, flopping down with a huff. Grabbing her phone, she dialed Isabella’s number herself, but Isabella didn’t answer.

What Natalie didn’t know was, Isabella was already back at the office, riding the elevator up. She just didn’t see the call.

Natalie glared at her phone, muttering, “Seriously? She’s ignoring me now?”

She grumbled about Isabella for a couple more minutes, and then, as if summoned by Natalie’s anger, Isabella walked right into view. Natalie’s mood darkened instantly. She didn’t move from her spot, just shot out a string of snark.

“Wow, look at you, Isabella. Making me wait here for thirty minutes like you’re some kind of queen.”

“I tried calling you, you know. You couldn’t even bother to pick up. Getting a little full of yourself, aren’t you?”

Isabella didn’t say a word. She just walked over to her office, pulled out her keys, unlocked the door, and went in without even glancing at Natalie.

That made Natalie even angrier. But she remembered why she was here—to ask for Nadine. Swallowing her pride, she stood up and followed Isabella inside.

Isabella was already sitting at her desk, leaning back in her black swivel chair, spinning it slowly. Everything about her—the way she moved, the way she acted—just made Natalie’s blood boil.
