“Nadine, I want so badly for this to be just a rumor. I wish it wasn’t true, but someone literally showed me proof. He’s cheating on me. He’s got someone else. And the worst part is, she’s stunning. Young, amazing body, beautiful face. Exactly his type.”
“How could he do this?” Nadine asked, her voice shaking. “He was furious when his own dad cheated. How could he let you go through the same hell his stepmom did?”
Natalie’s eyes grew red and watery. She tried so hard not to cry in front of Nadine, but it was useless. The pain was just too much. She already felt so beaten down, and the one person she wanted to lean on, Jordan, was now the one making her feel even worse.
He’d promised her forever. He said he’d treat her like a princess for the rest of their lives. Was forever really just a year or two for him?
“Natalie, are you sure?” Nadine looked like she was still hoping it was all one big misunderstanding. “Did you check the evidence? Do you really know who the other woman is? What if someone’s setting you up? People get jealous. Maybe someone wants to ruin your marriage because they can’t stand seeing you happy.”
Natalie picked up her last glass of wine and took a shaky sip. “I haven’t actually confirmed it, but I can feel it. There’s something weird going on between him and that woman.”
“It’s his secretary, Malvina. She’s young, she’s gorgeous. I’ve never liked her. I even told him to hire somebody else, but he refused. He keeps saying Malvina is great at her job and a new secretary wouldn’t be able to keep up.”
Nadine paused for a moment. “His secretary?”
