After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 610

“Isabella, can we give us another chance?”

Ethan’s voice was steady, his eyes serious. “I mean it this time. I’m not here to use you.”

Isabella didn’t even hesitate. “Ethan, we can’t go back. You say you’re over her, but are you really? I don’t think you are. Honestly, you’re loyal to a fault when it comes to love.”

She remembered her last life. Even up until the day she died, Ethan’s heart still belonged to Natalie. In his eyes, Natalie was the best woman in the world. No matter her flaws, he always found a way to forgive her, to make excuses for her.

“Ethan, let’s not talk about feelings anymore. If you want to talk business, I’m open to that. If you have a way for me to make some money, I’d be happy to hear about it.”

“And please, stop doing things to Harold. There’s nothing going on between us. To me, he’s just my friend’s older brother, nothing more.”

“That’s all there is to it. Don’t treat people like enemies just because I talked to them a little more than usual.”

“You and Harold have been friends for years. Don’t you know what kind of person he is?”

There was no way Harold would fall for her. Isabella knew she was decent looking, but she wasn’t the kind of woman who turned every head or made every guy fall at her feet. She and Harold had barely interacted in either of her lives. In her last life, when she died, Harold was still single. She had no idea who he’d end up with, but it definitely wasn’t her.

“You hit Harold. You should try to apologize when you get a chance. Don’t let your suspicions ruin your friendship.”

Ethan just stared at her for a long moment.

In a quiet voice, he said, “I was wrong today. I’ll apologize to Harold soon.”

He didn’t mention Harold being in love with her anymore. Harold always kept to himself, and he and Isabella had only met a few times. Even if Ethan insisted Harold liked her, she’d never believe it. She’d just think he misunderstood.

“Isabella, I haven’t eaten yet,” Ethan suddenly said.

“But at least you’d be here with me.”

Isabella was at a loss for words.

“How about you just make me a bowl of noodles? Isabella, I’m starving. I’m about to pass out here.”

“If you starve, that’s on you. Who told you not to eat?”

Ethan looked at her with puppy dog eyes, trying to win her over.

She shook her head. “Don’t give me that look. It won’t work this time. Your face still hurts, and honestly, you probably shouldn’t eat anyway. One night won’t kill you. Think of it as a diet. You’ve already lost enough weight lately, haven’t you?”
