After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 314

“My mom never took me back to visit my dad’s grave all these years. You seriously don’t know why?” Isabella shot back, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Do you even remember how your family treated us?”

She didn’t wait for an answer. “Paul, just tell me what you really want. Don’t start with all this family talk. I’m not interested in your fake sentiment.”

Paul forced a smile, looking a little embarrassed. “Your grandparents are getting old. They miss you. They asked me to come find you.”

“I’m busy, Paul. I don’t have time for this,” Isabella said, her face turning cold.

“Okay, okay, I’ll be honest,” Paul said, hands up in a mock surrender. “Your grandparents are old, their health isn’t great. They need to see doctors and take medicine every month. It costs a lot.”

He leaned in, lowering his voice like he was letting her in on a big secret. “Your dad’s gone. That means it’s your job now to support them. You’re living the good life, you’ve got money to spare. Just give me some to help cover their bills.”

Isabella knew it. Of course, it was about money.

She didn’t even blink. “How much do you want?”

Paul’s eyes lit up like he’d already won the lottery. He rubbed his hands together. “Your mom married rich, and now you’re with a billionaire. I won’t ask for much. Just give me two million to start.”

There was no way she was giving those two a single cent. Isabella was done with this conversation. She shoved Paul aside, slid into her car, and started the engine. Before Paul could even react, she was already pulling away.

“Isabella George! Isabella George!” Paul ran after the car, yelling at the top of his lungs. “Fine, ten thousand a day! That’s enough, right? Isabella George, you’ll regret this!”

He gave up chasing after a few steps, standing in the street glaring at her taillights as they disappeared. “You want to do this the hard way, Isabella George? Don’t blame us for what happens next,” he muttered under his breath.

Paul hadn’t spent all this time digging up information for nothing. He knew the Adams family elders never liked Isabella. They thought she didn’t deserve Ethan. If she refused to pay up, he’d go straight to the Adams estate and make a scene, ruin her name, and see how long she could last.
