After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 1219

Stephanie continued, "I know a few wonderful young women. Once you've finally processed this and moved on, I can set up some introductions."

"They excel in every way, far beyond Isabella's background. I'm sure you'd hit it off with them."

Ethan shook his head. "Until Isabella marries someone else, I won't even entertain the idea of a blind date."

As long as Isabella remained unmarried, he felt he still had a sliver of hope.

If she actually walked down the aisle with Harold, that would be the end of it. At that point, he wouldn't care who his grandmother set him up with. If he couldn't marry the woman he wanted, it didn't matter who he ended up with.

"I swear, I don't know what to do with you. Actually, your mother's goddaughter is fantastic. She has a great moral compass, she's highly capable, and your mother absolutely adores her."

"If you two got together, it would save us all a lot of in-law drama."

Ethan sighed in sheer exhaustion. "Grandma, can we please drop this? Isabella and I are both being targeted by a psychopath. It's a miracle if we even make it to old age."

"Now is not the time to drag innocent bystanders into this mess. Isabella and I are the only ones in the same boat right now."

"Bite your tongue!" Stephanie scolded quickly. "Don't jinx it. You and Isabella are going to live long, healthy lives."

"Grandma, how many people actually live to be a hundred? I'd be thrilled just to reach your age. Middle-aged people carry so much stress these days, most of us joke we won't even live to see retirement."

Ethan didn't dare dream of a century. Reaching his grandmother's age would be a triumph in itself.

"Do you really believe Natalie orchestrated Barbara's kidnapping?" Stephanie asked, shifting gears.

Ethan's tone immediately iced over. "She didn't plan it, but her hands aren't clean. She went to pick up the kidnappers. Whether she knew who they were beforehand or not, there's no way she can wash her hands of this."

In the dream, once Natalie was sentenced to death, her parents had completely cut ties with her, even publishing a public disownment statement. Jordan had also gone to prison, though he had avoided a death sentence.

Jackson, her father-in-law, had discovered the full extent of her crimes and despised her with every fiber of his being. He blamed her for destroying his family and tearing his home apart. Why would he ever collect the ashes of a daughter-in-law who died in such disgrace?

Ethan sighed inwardly. Natalie had brought this entirely upon herself.

It wasn't for lack of trying—people had warned her. She just refused to listen.

She was stubbornly obsessed. Once she set her mind on something, absolutely nothing could derail her.

He and Jordan had both begged her to stop targeting Isabella, but their words had fallen on deaf ears.

The harder they tried to pull her back, the more vicious her vendetta against Isabella became.
