"Mr. Shawn, if you didn't hit him suddenly, I wouldn't have parked at the restaurant, and I'd have to hitchhike now."

Michael felt upset inside as he listened to her accusations.

He was just afraid Chloe would suffer from it.

As soon as they returned to the Urban Lane and got out of the car, Candy saw James' Maybach.

When Chloe got out of the car, Candy purposely stood at the elevator entrance and waited.

Seeing Chloe coming, Candy teased, "So, did you and Mr. Dale go on a date?"

Chloe helplessly pushed Candy away. "Don't be ridiculous. I'm a mom now, and we just needed to have dinner together today for work."

"Who told you a mom couldn't be in a relationship?"

As Chloe looked at Candy's teasing grin, she said, "Let's talk about you. Didn't you go back to the Glory Villa last night?"

Candy immediately blushed at Chloe's words, and she turned her head to the side.

"It seemed that you had a nice chat yesterday, so how did it go? Did you get back together?"

Candy tucked her hair behind her ears. "Yes, he told me he'd make it clear to his dad that I've been his girlfriend long ago. Even if the Parker family had to unite with the Jenkins family in marriage, it would be him and me."

In truth, Chloe was relieved to hear that Candy and Wesley had gotten back together.
