Chapter 353 I'm Pursuing You

Chloe read the note over carefully while getting it. "I hope you keep your word. I want to wake up tomorrow and see the numbers on my card back to normal."

After saying that, she put the note into her bag and got up to leave.

Michael just looked deeply at Owen. He didn't say anything and followed Chloe.

Lucy leaned on Owen's shoulder, still sobbing silently. But she stared in the direction Michael had disappeared, her eyes filled with resignation.

On the way back, Michael had been sitting in the backseat and smiling at Chloe.

It made Chloe feel horrible.

"Why are you looking at me?"

She thought, "What happened to my face?"

"How did I just behave?" asked Michael.

"What?"

Chloe didn't understand what he was saying.

"I didn't defend Lucy anymore, and I was totally on your side!"

Chloe was stunned.

She thought, "So what?

Does he need me to stroke his head and compliment him?"

"Shouldn't you reward me then?"

"If you hadn't just taken the card out, it wouldn't have happened today!"

Chloe thought, "He actually wants me to reward him?"

Michael became sad to hear this.

He thought, "Well, she's right. It was indeed an oversight on my part."

"The Opal Group will be hosting a party in a couple of days. I'll have the dresses delivered to the home. I'll go back to pick you up then."

If he didn't mention it, Chloe almost forgot.

"No, I'll just drive myself there."

"Then let's go back to Shawn Manor for dinner tomorrow."

"I have something tomorrow. I'm afraid I can't."

Michael was rejected several times in a row, and his demeanor immediately went cold.

He took a deep breath. "I'll pick you up from work then."

"It's hard to not see it."

"I made it just for you."

Chloe thought something was wrong with him.

"The billboard will be scrolling on the screens of every major mall in the entire city. Do you think your husband will see it?"

Chloe raised her eyebrows slightly. "Is this your idea?"

"Yes. I've got a good idea, don't I?"

James was still smiling, sly and smug.

"Did you do it on purpose?"

James nodded. "Right. I'm going to let Michael know that I'm pursuing you."
