A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 729

Five minutes later.

Brinley's hysterical screams echoed from outside. "Starla Lansbury, you've gone too far! How could you do this to me!"

"Ah! Let go of me, let me go! What right do you have to treat me like this? Let go, all of you, let go!"

She struggled wildly, desperate not to be thrown out like trash.

She didn't have a dime to her name, the Seabrooks no longer owned property in the city, and Felix wanted nothing to do with her.

Where was she supposed to go?

When Starla told the man from Yoran Country to 'give her a hand,' she actually believed it was a gesture of mercy.

She had naively thought that Starla had taken pity on her.

She had even ridiculously thanked her...

But was this helping her?

She was having her physically tossed out onto the street. How could she be so ruthless!

"You won! You got everything you wanted! Why do you still have to do this to me?"

"You've already won! You already won!"

In this battle...

She had never considered Starla a threat, but now she realized the bitter truth. She had lost.

She had lost everything...

And she had lost to the very woman she had looked down on the most!

Brinley's screams eventually faded into silence.

Starla set down her fruit tea as a maid approached. "Ms. Lansbury, Mr. Farley had the kitchen prepare some Restorative Chicken Consommé for you. Please have a bowl; the broth is incredibly fresh."

Starla was speechless.

At the mention of yet another tonic, her face instantly fell!

"I've already gained so much weight, and I still have to eat this?"

They kept saying she needed to build up her strength, but she felt perfectly fine now. Why did she still have to endure this?

"You're not heavy at all. Although your health has improved, you still need nourishment to stabilize your condition," the maid coaxed gently.

Starla pouted. "Fine."

Starla was silent.

Hearing that he was already gone made the rich broth in her stomach feel like lead.

"That absolute bastard!"

She was furious.

They genuinely hadn't expected him to pull a stunt like this.

Especially since he had been so adamant about wanting a divorce earlier.

And now this!

What kind of ending was this?

The person most furious, however, was Herbert. He took her hand, looking at her with a gaze full of aggrieved resentment.

Seeing him like that was too much for her to handle.

"You can't blame me for this. Who could have predicted he'd pull something like this?"

After all, dragging things out with her offered absolutely no benefit to him.
