A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 723

Back at The Yelchin Estate.

Herbert and Starla were absolutely furious upon learning that Fairfax had gone to Hansville City.

Herbert immediately ordered Rudolf to take a team there and drag him back.

Starla also had Garret dispatch his own people.

In short, it was total chaos.

After making all the arrangements, Herbert gave Starla's hand a gentle squeeze, wanting to say something comforting.

But at a moment like this, words seemed useless.

She glanced at him. "He's absolutely despicable!"

Her tone was laced with undeniable fury.

Despicable didn't even begin to cover it; the man was utterly shameless.

What he had done was barely human.

"Alright, don't let him get to you, okay?" Herbert murmured softly.

"I just don't understand what he's playing at. Is he just trying to make me miserable?"

Talk about a divorce!

They had fought tooth and nail over it recently.

Everyone assumed that the moment Fairfax caved and signed over the Yelchin Group to her, it meant their marriage was officially over.

After all, he had made it perfectly clear beforehand that he wanted out, too.

But now...

He gave up everything, but kept the marriage!

That bastard. If he wasn't doing this just to spite her, she would eat her own shoe.

"He's always been shameless in a lot of ways," Herbert noted. "Like..."

Like what?

He didn't finish the sentence, just giving her a subtle look.

Like the way he treated her!

If he hadn't used that incident back then, she never would have agreed to marry him in the first place.

"Like what?" she pressed.

Especially when she was being targeted and bullied by them. If he had just told them the truth, would they have been so cruel?

Why hadn't he said anything? She still didn't know!

And right now, she didn't want to dig into it.

It was this divorce—this agreed-upon divorce—that he was now using to play games with her, leaving a bitter taste in her mouth.

"What's wrong?"

Seeing her silence, Herbert gently pinched her cheek.

She shook her head. "Just some things from the past I'd rather not bring up."

Thinking too much about the past only drained her energy!

...

Xenia, Darleen, and Brinley Seabrook were on the verge of being thrown out of the estate.

Even though Starla wasn't officially divorced yet, she had turned their lives upside down enough.

Darleen and Xenia knew that Fairfax had signed everything over to Starla, but hadn't finalized the divorce.

The moment Herbert left, Darleen sought Starla out to pick a fight!
