After leaving Cosmos Summit, Herbert met with a client. When he returned to the Farley Group, the secretarial staff immediately informed Rudolf that Fairfax had arrived.

Rudolf’s expression darkened. “Why did you let him in without notifying me first?”

With the relationship between Herbert and Fairfax in tatters, Fairfax no longer had unrestricted access to the Farley Group.

“He just stormed in,” a secretary explained nervously. “We couldn’t stop him.”

“He forced his way in?” Rudolf’s brow furrowed. “When did he get here?”

“About five minutes ago.”

That explained why he hadn't been notified. They hadn't even had time to react to Fairfax's aggressive entrance.

Rudolf quickly fell into step behind Herbert, hurrying to keep up.

“Fairfax is in your office, sir,” he reported.

Herbert paused, his entire demeanor turning frigid.

“Should I go handle him first, sir? Maybe you should wait here,” Rudolf suggested, concerned that another fight would break out. In his eyes, Fairfax was behaving like a rabid dog, tearing his own life apart and then lashing out at everyone else. He was blaming others for Starla’s rebellion, completely ignoring his own sordid behavior with his sister-in-law.

“No need,” Herbert said, his voice a low growl.

Rudolf started to protest, “But…”
