A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 277

What they did before was nothing, just a minor nuisance to give Fairfax a headache. Back then, Yardley hadn't been sure of his sister's true feelings for the man, or if they would actually go through with the divorce.

But now, seeing how happy she was to be free, he felt at ease. The suffering his sister had endured couldn't just be forgotten.

"Understood," Garret replied.

"Her gift for a new beginning will start with… the Yelchins."

"I've already made the arrangements," Garret said.

After so many years at Yardley's side, he knew his methods well. The moment he learned that Faraday's daughter had died and Starla had returned to Cosmos Summit, he guessed her marriage was over and had prepared for what would come next.

After hanging up, Garret made another call. "At the auction, don't leave a single thing for the Yelchins."

"Yes, sir."

He had received intelligence that Darleen also planned to buy some diamonds as a reward for Brinley giving birth to twins. Now, even with one child gone, she hadn't canceled her plans. She likely intended to use the jewel to console Brinley. Something so precious could not be allowed to fall into that woman's hands.

Starla, oblivious to her vengeful brother's plans, was sound asleep.

Fairfax, however, was wide awake. The night was a torment. He had called Caden and Darian, who expected a trip to a bar. Instead, they found themselves by the river.
