"My baby is missing, and you're asking me where she is? Starla, you're pathetic."

"If I bring the baby to Fairfax, he'll give me a divorce," Starla said coolly.

Brinley was quiet.

"This is what you wanted, isn't it?" Starla continued. "So just tell me where she is. Let me give her to Fairfax so we can both get what we want."

Starla was certain Brinley had orchestrated the kidnapping herself, so she pressed her advantage.
