Even setting aside the poisoning incident with Fairfax, she had to teach Starla a harsh lesson for Herbert's sake. She needed to make it crystal clear that in Marina City, Starla was nothing more than an ant to be crushed.
...
Back at Cosmos Summit, Tanya finished her shower and worked for a while before climbing into bed. Starla was still there, idly playing a simple jumping game on her phone.
"You must be really bored to be playing that," Tanya remarked. "That game is ancient."
"It's simple. Doesn't require any brainpower," Starla replied. Complicated games just gave her a headache; this was perfect for passing the time.
Tanya had held her tongue since arriving, but she couldn't anymore.
"So, about Fairfax ending up in the hospital today... did you really feed him poison?"
She'd heard about the incident from Caden, and she was still reeling. She couldn't believe Starla would resort to poison just to get a divorce.
"I fed it to him personally," Starla said calmly. "But I didn't put the poison in the broth."
Tanya stared at her, confused.
