A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 132

"We're pulling out!"

Damn it! His best friend and his wife, what the hell was going on? He and Starla weren't even divorced yet, and they were already pulling this stunt.

Divorce? They could dream on! Fairfax would never grant a divorce, and Herbert would never get his chance.

Gabriel was taken aback. "Sir, many of those projects are halfway complete. If we stop now, we'll face significant losses."

"I don't care about the losses! Cancel them all!" Fairfax was beside himself with anger. The thought of Starla hidden away by Herbert made his blood boil. Just hearing Herbert's name put him on high alert.

Still fuming, Fairfax added, "And I want a list of all his other collaborative projects, too."

"Sir, is that wise?" Gabriel asked hesitantly. He knew exactly what Fairfax intended to do with that list. He was going to declare war on Herbert. This was bad news for them; Herbert was not someone to be trifled with.

But Fairfax was beyond reason. "What's not wise about it? He's shamelessly trying to steal my wife. What's wrong with me stealing a few of his projects?"

Gabriel sighed. Was it as simple as stealing a few projects? Herbert wasn't a pushover. If Fairfax went after his ventures, he would retaliate in kind. It would be an all-out war, and things would get ugly fast. Herbert was ruthless. Once a real fight started, the situation would spiral out of control.
