Starla laughed mockingly. "Marrying into the Yelchin family certainly has its perks, but with a sister-in-law as 'capable' as you, I doubt anyone would ever get to enjoy them."
Who wouldn't want those benefits? But if this blew up and people found out how domineering Xenia was, even families eager to align with the Yelchins would think twice about welcoming such a difficult daughter-in-law.
"You... you..."
"Tsk, tsk. Such a shame about that beautiful villa. You went through all that trouble to keep it in your name, and you never even got to live in it."
With that final jab, Starla hung up.
Xenia, completely incensed, didn't even notice the call had ended. She was still screaming into the dead phone, "You bitch!"
How dare she say that? At that moment, Xenia was truly unhinged, wishing she could tear Starla limb from limb. Her only response was the black screen of the disconnected call. She tried calling back immediately, only to find that Starla had already blocked her number.
"That bitch! All she does is cause trouble! Why is she so good at it?"
Brinley, who had been silent the whole time, had heard everything. Seeing Xenia's fury, she asked, "Did she really burn down Petal Villa? Where is she going to live now?"
"Live where? On the street, for all I care!" Xenia spat, still seething. "The Yelchins certainly don't have any spare houses for her!"
Brinley's expression darkened. “She really has the gall,” Brinley thought. “Who on earth is backing her?”
