A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 1192

Romy was a highly trained operative. She had run countless missions over the years. Trailing her was no easy feat.

"But if they want to find you again, it'll be a walk in the park!" Starla countered. Romy was still legally alive; her digital footprint was active. Unlike her and Herbert, who had wiped their existences from the grid.

"Why would they waste time looking for me?" Romy scoffed. "Do they think I'm playing dead like you and Mr. Farley?"

Starla's jaw tightened.

"If you're really that worried, I guess I could go fake my own death too," Romy offered with a shrug.

Fake her own death? Did she think erasing one's existence was just a casual weekend project? If Romy pulled a stunt like that now, it would practically scream 'conspiracy' and draw all of Fairfax and Yardley's suspicions right back to them.

Starla took a deep breath. "I don't care how you found this place, and I don't care what your motives are. You need to leave. Immediately."

"Wait, you want me to—"

"Right now," Starla said without hesitation. Romy couldn't stay. And frankly, neither could she and Herbert. They had to relocate.

"Are you serious?" Romy's bright demeanor faltered, annoyance crossing her features. "I literally just got here, and you're kicking me out? I'm not going to sell you out. What's your problem?"

She crossed her arms, clearly offended. "I was always good to you before, and now you're treating me like this?"
