A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 1011

"No one is cursing Tanya's name anymore after hearing that."

Starla let out a mocking laugh. "You could have delivered this result from the very beginning, couldn't you?"

When Tanya Mercer was still in Marina City, he had the power to make this happen. But his heart hadn't been fully in it, leaving Tanya to endure endless abuse for far too long.

"Besides, she was only shoved into the crosshairs because of you. Why do you sound like you're granting her some massive favor now that you've cleaned up your own mess?"

Wasn't this exactly what he was supposed to do? What did he mean by 'the result she wanted'? This never should have happened in the first place.

Darian Lynn gritted his teeth. "The situation has been neutralized. It's time to let Yulisa go."

Right now, Darian had zero patience for Starla's games. He knew exactly how ruthless she could be. Every extra minute Yulisa Moore spent in her custody was a massive risk. No one knew what Starla might do if she snapped.

He had seen the devastation she rained on the Yelchin family. He knew all about the war in Yoran Country against the Hoggarts. Back when she was married to Fairfax, none of them had realized just how feral Starla could be.

"It seems you really let my words go in one ear and out the other," Starla replied coldly.

"What do you mean?" Darian's voice spiked. He was completely fed up with her attitude. The problem was solved—what more did she want?!

"I told you," Starla enunciated carefully, "either your mother or Yulisa takes the fall for this."

Darian went silent.

"Now, you've pushed your sister forward as the scapegoat. What kind of joke is this?"
