Chapter 3350 Blaming God
“That man is indeed devious!” Donna commented without reserve.
Megan turned around and covered her mouth to stifle her chuckles. She didn’t respond and simply held Donna’s hand to go home.
Before arriving at the stairs, they saw a man and a woman tugging at each other, probably arguing about something.
As Megan didn’t want to be a busybody, she merely glanced at them for a second before leaving. After all, it was none of her business.
Coincidentally, she happened to gaze at the woman’s face the moment she wanted to walk past them. She instantly recognized the woman as Melissa.
What are they doing here?
Megan was bewildered. She quickly grabbed Donna’s arm and hid somewhere to eavesdrop on their conversation.
“Why did you lie to me? You promised that you’ll get me a role in The Royal Wife after I sleep with you for one night!”
Melissa grabbed the man’s arms tightly and cried her eyes out. As the stairway was dimly lit, the light reflected on her pale face made her look like a ghost.
Although the man tried hard to break free from her, she apparently didn’t wish to let go. Instead, she grabbed his arms tighter while her face distorted in agony.
“Why don’t you read the bad reviews about yourself? Besides, I’m not the director, do you really think I can get you the role?” There were already some scratches on the man’s arms as Melissa tightened her grip. Megan watched on as the pair continued to argue going upstairs.
Just when Megan wanted to drag Donna to follow the pair, the man suddenly struggled frantically to break free from Melissa’s grip.
Melissa gnashed her teeth when she heard the derision. Her hair was a mess while the makeup on her face was covered by a layer of dust.
“Megan, who are you to lecture me? Do you think you can be more successful than me if it wasn’t for the fact that something untoward happened?”
Melissa seemed confident about herself, feeling that she was still as high and mighty as a princess. Apparently, she had no idea that she was no different from an outcast now.
Megan raised her eyebrows and said in a mocking tone, “I wonder if I should commend or mock you for your confidence. Nonetheless, I’ll be delighted if this is how you keep yourself motivated. I mean, it’s quite enjoyable to watch you live in pain than to die to get rid of your sorrow.”
“You!” Melissa’s face turned red as fury surged within her. However, the moment she clenched her fists, she felt soreness in every part of her body.
Deep down, she blamed God for allowing a vixen from the farming village to humiliate her and for her to fall so far from grace that she couldn’t even get a supporting role in any film now.
