Never Late, Never Away Chapter 2264

“That’s why I think Joan is really upset now. You should go and talk to her.”

“I don’t think so. Joan isn’t the petty type, alright? She trusts Larry fully. Most probably, you are the one who overthinks,” Nancy responded without much care.

Caspian grew fed up with her carefree attitude. She’s behaving exactly like Jessica! No wonder Jessica mentioned that she likes her.

“Please go and check on her, just in case!” Caspian could no longer hold back his anxiousness.

“Wow. Caspian, are you raising your voice at me? How dare you? Are you over your head because of Jessica?” Nancy provoked deliberately, discontent with his attitude.

Caspian was evidently into Jessica, but it seemed too soon to assume that they would end up together.

“Alright, I got it. I will leave shortly.” Upon saying that, Nancy hung up the phone abruptly.

The media nowadays is truly corrupted. How could they publish such a rumor without confirming its validity?

Once again, Nancy turned on her phone and made a call.

“Where should we meet? Okay. I will go there after work. Yeah, I miss you too. It has been so long.” It was Joan’s voice at the other end.

Joan was not surprised by Nancy’s sudden invitation, as she figured the latter most probably wanted to persuade her to trust Larry. However, deep down in her heart, all these were unnecessary anymore.

Right after work, Joan headed to a restaurant.

“Hi, Joan. Long time no see. Shall we have a drink together?” Nancy greeted her with a friendly smile.

Joan immediately voiced her concern. “I don’t think that’s a good idea. Aren’t you pregnant?”

“Joan, what are you talking about? I meant coffee. Did I say wine?”

In an instant, Joan’s face reddened from embarrassment.

However, little did they both know that Jessica had been extremely inebriated during the incident. If Larry had not held her, she would have collapsed to the ground.

“Joan, would you like to name my baby?” Nancy grabbed Joan’s arms and suggested playfully.

That sounds like a difficult task. Joan cast an awkward smile at her.

“Don’t you think it is better to leave the naming to the grandparents? Or maybe you could wait for me to search through some books for great name suggestions.”

“Sure, no problem. Come on, let’s go to the lady’s department!” Nancy waved her hand towards Joan.

After they shopped for a short hour, they parted, and Joan headed home. The moment she opened the front door, she saw Larry waiting for her on the couch.

“You’re back.” Larry greeted her quickly, but he was ignored by Joan, who walked right into the bedroom.

“Dad, is Mom okay? Is she not feeling well?” Lucius, who was playing in the living room, felt that his mother’s behavior was strange.
