Melody was fuming when she saw the tactless assistant, Adrian, once again. She never thought he would actually ask her to refer to Sierra as Mrs. Gray. He had to be joking!
Since Theo was unwilling to change his assistant, she'd just find another way to remove all of Sierra's supporters from Theo's side. Her mind spun with an idea as she sat beside Theo.
Then, she picked up the cup of coffee, took a sip, and exclaimed, "Wow! I never thought you'd be so good at making coffee. Why don't you work for me instead? I'll give you double of whatever you're making now."
Adrian's eyes twitched as he tried hard to maintain a serious demeanor. He quickly replied, "Ms. Jones, thank you for your generous offer, but I wasn't the one who made the coffee."
Melody, who was still sipping on the coffee, immediately paused. Looking at the coffee that he brought, she was at a loss, unsure if she should continue drinking or not.
Amusement flashed across Theo's eyes as he lowered his gaze and asked calmly, "Ms. Jones, did you come here today for something? If you're not here for anything, I can have someone see you out."
Sensing that he was about to chase her away, she quickly collected her embarrassed expression and took out a gold invitation card from her bag.
"I won't be going abroad again, and I'm back for good. My family is planning to hold a welcoming banquet, and I came here today to give you the invitation card."
Theo took the card and set it aside, appearing uninterested.
Seeing his reaction, Melody pursed her lips before she smiled, continuing, "My family will also announce at the banquet that I'll be joining the company officially.
"Once that happens, I'll be directly involved in all the collaborations between the Jones Group and Gray Corporation."
If the Jones family was just holding the banquet to welcome their daughter back, then it did not matter whether he showed up or not.
However, if they were to announce that Melody was officially joining the company, then the meaning of the banquet would carry more weight.
It meant that the Jones family was grooming their next heir, and everyone close to them should attend out of respect for them.
However, the Gray family's position in Oceanea City was different, so his presence or absence wouldn't make a difference.
Perhaps it was time for him to bring Sierra to that banquet.
In the end, he agreed, "I'll attend."
Melody was ecstatic. She held herself back from hugging him impulsively and stood up gracefully to bid him goodbye. "Then, I won't disturb you from your work anymore. Remember, you must come!"
The Jones banquet was to be held five days later. Theo quickly forgot about it and only remembered when Adrian reminded him about the banquet a day before.
When he arrived home at night, Theo purposely headed to their bedroom early.
So when Sierra had returned from practicing the piano and was about to wash up, she found him leaning against the bed, reading a magazine.
Preparing to head into the bathroom, she took her pajamas and asked nonchalantly, "Why are you resting so early today?"
