A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo) novel Chapter 364

Vera knew that William wanted to sell their house and had tried to stop him. However, how could he possibly listen to her?

After threatening her, he signed the sales agreement.

In a short time, all of the Shaw family's assets had been sold. However, he still needed around four to five million dollars to reach the 50,000,000 mark.

Johnny reluctantly covered the remaining amount.

On the night that William handed Johnny the money, Johnny explained to him how much money he could earn in the future.

William was so excited that he accidentally drank too much.

Seeing his drunken state, Vera wiped his face and poured him a glass of water in worry. "Why did you drink so much? Do you feel sick?"

He only felt annoyed when he saw her frown. He answered harshly, "Fuck off. Today is such a good day, yet here you are, putting on a bitter expression."

After being hit on the head, her eyes turned red with humiliation as she held her head in her hand and ran up the stairs.

When Xavier came home from working overtime, he immediately saw William sleeping dazedly on the couch. Worried, he went over to check on him. "Dad, are you alright?"

The smell of alcohol hit him instantly, and disdain flashed across his eyes. He lowered his voice, asking, "How much did you drink tonight? Didn't Mom come and help you?"

Hearing Xavier's voice, William opened his eyes and slurred, "Xavier, I've just invested my money into a big project. Once we make a profit, the Shaw family will return to its usual glory.

"I'm currently saving up some money for you. In the future, the company and all of our family's wealth will be yours. This is the fortune I'm leaving behind for you. Aren't you glad?"

Xavier's hand, which had been supporting William, tensed. He looked at William with a complicated expression and said, "Dad…"

William was drunk out of his mind and did not notice the hesitance in Xavier's tone. Instead, he continued to brag about his foresight and boldness.

When Xavier heard that he had sold all his assets and properties, his expression immediately changed.

Throughout his time working with the people from Gray Corporation, he learned a lot of things. He had not become a genius overnight, but he could understand the reality of the Shaw Corporation.

Instead, his heart was filled with guilt.

He wanted to confess the truth, but he felt like he would be betraying Sierra that way. He was also afraid that his father would beat him up again if he told him the truth.

In the end, while William was still murmuring about things, he decided on a more subtle approach.

He said, "Dad, the investment scheme you've mentioned doesn't seem very reliable. It sounds too good to be true. I think we should be more careful with our money.

"Why don't you take your money back, and I'll have someone look into the company?"

William's eyes widened, and he shoved Xavier away. The affection in his eyes disappeared instantly and was quickly replaced with rage.

Pointing at Xavier, William roared, "What do you know? You've only been working in the company for a few days, yet you think you can tell me what to do?

"Don't think that you're the head of the house just because the people in the company call you with respect. I've been around the block a few times. How can I possibly misjudge an opportunity?"
