"What happened after that?" Seeing Sierra beating around the bush, Madison eagerly pressed for more details.
Sierra thought about Theo's cold expression when they met at the club last night, and her heart tightened. "Maddy, how about I stay at your place tonight?"
Madison didn't answer immediately and continued to press her about what happened last night. When she learned that Theo had caught the younger men accompanying them, her heart sank.
That was the reason why he had looked at her with such a murderous gaze this morning.
"Well, I still have some things to do, so I'm heading out now." Madison cleared her throat, her eyes darting around. She chose to ignore Sierra's silent plea and made a quick escape.
"Maddy…" Sierra called after her.
"Sierra, just talk things out with Mr. Gray. He won't do anything to you," Madison answered as she sped off as fast as her legs allowed her.
Watching her leave, Sierra muttered angrily, "Hmph. I won't hang out with you next time."
Passersby couldn't help but think how cute she looked in that pouty state.
This was how the goddess was behind the scenes.
Sierra didn't realize that the students now saw her in a new light. She was still troubled about how to face Theo later.
At 4:30 pm, Sierra dragged her feet as she slowly made her way from the piano room to the school gate.
Seeing the familiar car across the street, her face wrinkled.
Seeing that she just stood there without getting in, Adrian honked.
Sitting in the back seat and with his laptop resting on his lap, Theo checked his emails. He calmly advised Adrian, "There's no need to rush. She'll come over soon."
She shook her head. "You don't have to. No matter who the competitors are, I'll take it seriously and give it my all."
He smiled lightly and added more food to her plate, his eyes filled with affection. "Alright."
Sierra, who had been focused on eating, suddenly looked up. Then, she asked, "Do you mind if I go abroad for the competition?"
His expression remained calm, and his voice was steady. "When the time comes, I'll go with you. It'll be safer that way."
She stared at him for a while, making sure he wasn't hiding any dissatisfaction before smiling and nodding. "It would be nice if you could go with me. The international competitors are all very talented, and their pieces are really beautiful…"
Seeing her eyes sparkle as she spoke about the piano, he didn't feel annoyed. Instead, he listened to her seriously.
After dinner, Sierra went back to the piano room, still troubled about which pieces to choose for the competition.
