A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo) novel Chapter 272

"Janet, what nonsense are you spouting? You know how busy Theo is," Liam queried in a calm, reassuring tone.

"Hmph." Janet lifted her chin and cast a scornful look at Sierra. "Theo's busy, but what is Sierra so busy with? She's not even working."

Now that Sierra had married Theo, she was an obstacle in Benson's path to inheriting the family assets.

Furthermore, if it weren't for her refusal to reconcile with Benson and her exposing Sophie's pregnancy to Edward, Janet wouldn't have had to deal with such a useless daughter-in-law.

Since she couldn't direct her resentment at Edward, who had forced Benson to marry Sophie, Sierra was the target of Janet's anger instead.

Having been used to it, Sierra simply ignored Janet and sat beside Edward with a sweet smile. "Thank you, Edward."

She had almost called him "Grandpa" but quickly corrected herself, blushing at the realization that she was now officially married to Theo.

Edward's face stiffened for a second before he suddenly chuckled in delight. "Awesome."

Turning to Liam and Janet, she greeted them with manners, leaving the couple speechless.

Standing nearby was Theo, who rubbed his nose and looked amused.

"Sierra is addressing you two. If you aren't going to reward her for changing her address, the least you could do is respond," Edward reprimanded, clearly displeased.

Liam found the whole situation absurd but still forced a smile. "Yes..."

It was a joke that he expected her to be his future daughter-in-law, only for him to acknowledge her as his sister-in-law.

Theo wasn't easy to deal with. For the sake of power, he had even stolen his nephew's fiancée.

A dark shadow flickered in Liam's eyes, but he quickly returned to his usual gentle demeanor.

Janet opened her mouth, but no matter how hard she tried, she simply couldn't bring herself to answer. Instead, she clamped her mouth shut and pretended that she wasn't there.

Once they were seated, Edward cleared his throat, saying, "I've called you all here today to discuss Benson's wedding. I've chosen the date—it's on the 28th of next month. Today is the 25th, which means there's one month to prepare."

The timing was tight, but given Sophie's condition, it couldn't be delayed any further.

Janet's dissatisfaction was written all over her face. She kept glancing at the woman Benson was being forced to marry, and her eyes flashed with calculation.

Then, an idea came to her.

"Edward, why don't we wait until after she gives birth to hold the wedding? If we rush like this, what if something goes wrong?"

Her plan was simple: once the baby was born, Sophie would be useless. Then, she could kick Sophie out and find a better wife for Benson—someone with a strong background and capabilities. If that happened, Edward would surely see Benson in a new light.

Fully aware of Janet's disdain for her, Sophie refused to sit idly by. Placing a hand on her belly, she retorted softly, "If we don't get married first, how will the child obtain the birth certificate? I don't want my baby to be born into gossip and judgment."

Benson's eyes flickered as he stared at her belly, his expression complicated.
