A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo) novel Chapter 227

"We don't owe each other anything. From now on, we are done."

Benson's actions had completely erased the last trace of gratitude Sierra had once held for him saving her life.

His love was suffocating, destructive—something she could no longer bear.

Seeing her unwavering determination, he felt a wave of panic rise in his chest. Why couldn't she just forgive him?

Then, suddenly, an image of Theo flashed through his mind.

He lunged forward, gripping Sierra's shoulders tightly, his voice raw with desperation. "This is because of Theo, isn't it?"

His grip was too firm, causing her injured shoulder to throb in pain. She tried to pull away, but he tightened his hold.

"Theo isn't with you for love. He has an agenda. He's only saying he wants to marry you because he sees you as a stepping stone. He's using you for his benefit—he doesn't care about you.

"Cee, you need to wake up!"

Sierra shoved him away with all her strength, her breathing uneven as she clutched her aching shoulder.

Pain flashed across her face, her complexion turning pale.

She took a moment to steady herself before looking at him coldly.

"I don't care why he approached me," she said, her voice unwavering.

Benson looked utterly stunned. "Why?"

"Because he respects me," she insisted, locking eyes with him. "He doesn't make decisions for me. He also won't force me to do things I don't want. He'd also never hurt."

He staggered back, his hand gripping the edge of his desk for support. "You're leaving me for him?" he whispered, his voice hoarse.

Sierra's eyes filled with disappointment as she turned and walked away without a single glance.

By the time she arrived at the lobby, she couldn't hold back her tears.

She had loved Benson when she was young. He had been her first love, the only person she had once trusted completely.

However, he was now nothing like the person she thought she knew.

He wasn't stupid, considering how he ran an entire company. So, how could he not realize that making that post would only bring her more hate?

How could he not see that labeling her as his "girlfriend" again would ruin her reputation and even cost her the competition?

Fabian bit back his curiosity, sighing in frustration. "Regardless, the internet is completely against Sierra competing. If she stays in the competition, both the public and the other contestants will have a problem with it. We can't let one person ruin the entire competition."

Theo's face remained expressionless, his deep eyes locking onto Fabian. "If you abandon her now, you're just kicking her while she's down."

Fabian opened his mouth but found himself at a loss for words.

After a moment of silence, Theo's voice came, firm and commanding. "I'll take care of this."

With the biggest investor personally guaranteeing a solution, Fabian reluctantly agreed to give it a few more days.

If the public backlash died down by then, Sierra would be allowed to continue competing.

However, if things remained one-sided, with everyone demanding her withdrawal, then she would have no choice but to drop out.

Meanwhile, at home, Sierra spent the day practicing piano while keeping an eye on the online discussions.

The situation wasn't getting any better. Every few hours, bots would pop up, stirring the pot and keeping the controversy alive.

Worried about Sierra, Madison even took time off work to stay by her side.

That afternoon, Theo showed up at her door—holding a bouquet of sunflowers.
