"What are you looking at?" Theo's clear voice interrupted Sierra's thoughts, and she quickly snapped back to reality.
Shifting her gaze away from the window, she realized that Theo had just placed a warm cup of milk in front of her.
"It's nothing. I just remembered a few things."
Sierra lowered her gaze, picked up the cup of milk, and took a small sip. The richness and sweetness of the milk immediately spread in her mouth, making her eyes light up.
"Is it good?"
Sierra nodded. "Yes. It tastes really nice."
Seeing her smile, Theo smirked as amusement flickered across his eyes.
After they were done eating, a waiter came over to clear the plates.
With feigned nonchalance, Theo took a sip of his water and asked, "What did you talk about with Benson today?"
"It's nothing. I just asked Benson to stop giving me things and to stop interfering in my life."
Theo leaned back in his chair and said in a deep voice, "He won't listen. He's already told Dad that he plans to marry you before the New Year, and Dad has already begun looking for some auspicious dates."
Upon hearing Theo's words, Sierra looked up at him in disbelief and paled. She tightened her grip around her cup, and her voice was filled with anger as she said through gritted teeth, "I won't marry him."
"Then, what do you plan to do? Are you going to run away on the day of your wedding? Or are you planning to fight to the death?"
Each word he said caused Sierra's brows to furrow even deeper. Where could she possibly run off to? And why should she give up on her life?
Suddenly, the soft piano music in the restaurant gradually became fast and intense, mirroring the anxiousness she felt.
After a brief moment of silence, she looked at Theo, saying, "I won't choose either of those options. Uncle Theo, could you tell Grandpa Edward that Benson and I have already broken up?"
Her eyes immediately brightened as she asked, "What is it?"
"Marry me." Theo's voice was calm, and his expression remained nonchalant. The sunlight shone in through the window, shining on his handsome face and softening the look on his face.
Sierra was dumbfounded upon hearing Theo's suggestion. The cup in her hand slipped and the liquid inside came spilling out.
Flustered, she grabbed some tissues to wipe the milk off the table as she tried to calm her racing heart. Then, with a tense voice, she asked, "Uncle Theo, are you joking with me?"
"What do you think?" Theo replied as his dark eyes flickered with amusement, giving off the illusion that he was looking at her affectionately.
She was momentarily stunned before she realized that he wasn't joking. However, that realization only made her even more panicked.
Her mind went blank for a moment before she quickly reminded him, "Uncle Theo, this isn't something to joke about. I was in a relationship with Benson for three years. He's your nephew."
