A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo) novel Chapter 125

Sierra frowned, a flicker of irritation flashing in her eyes. "Who I see or don't see has nothing to do with you."

"Are you admitting to being with Uncle Theo?" Benson narrowed his eyes, his expression turning even darker. "Were you in his car just now?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

She turned to walk away, but he grabbed her wrist again.

"What do you want, Benson?" she snapped, her eyes burning with frustration.

He locked his gaze on her. "Since when did you and Uncle Theo get so close? How did I not know you two were together?

His tone carried suspicion, laced with displeasure.

Sierra forced herself to suppress the irritation rising within her, her face cold and unyielding as she spoke. "Grandpa Edward asked Uncle Theo to look after me more. If you don't believe it, ask Grandpa Edward yourself. Are you satisfied?"

Benson pressed his lips tightly together, his gaze growing serious.

If it had really been Edward who asked Theo to look after Sierra, it would make sense. After all, Edward had always liked her and treated her like his own granddaughter.

Theo, on the other hand, was someone detached when it came to family. The only person he cared about the most was Edward. To him, even his own dad or Benson were like strangers.

So, it was impossible that Theo would have the hots for Sierra. He barely had any emotional attachments, apart from their grandfather.

This had to be just him fulfilling Edward's wish to look out for her.

Sierra struggled, shouting in fury, and lifted her foot to kick him hard in the stomach.

Benson winced in pain and let go, causing the bouquet of roses to fall to the ground. The petals scattered everywhere, stinging his eyes.

"I was wrong that day. I never meant for Sophie to hit you—she acted impulsively. I never wanted to hurt you." He held his stomach, gritting his teeth to bear the pain, and looked at her with a solemn expression.

Sierra froze for a split second, almost thinking she had misheard him.

However, he continued in a lower, steadier voice. "I never wanted to break up with you. The only person I've ever wanted to marry is you."

Benson held her gaze, his eyes earnest and unwavering. He had never said such things. If it had been a month ago, she would have jumped for joy at those words. However, all she felt was an overwhelming sense of calm, without a single ripple in her heart.
