Demi walked out of the school gate that evening and saw Felix's car parked outside. She walked over quickly.
Charles waved at Demi, watching her get into the car and leave.
"Here's the situation. My aunt's sister-in-law has been unable to sleep well for years, and it's getting worse. She's seen many renowned doctors, but no one has been able to help.
"Dr. Finnegan tried helping her a while ago, but there was no improvement, so I had no choice but to ask for your help," Felix explained the situation as soon as Demi got in the car.
Demi nodded in response.
"Also, the people who bullied you before—I'll make sure the authorities track them down and punish them severely," Felix said, his expression dark and cold.
Demi immediately smiled and said, "Thank you. It would be best if we could stop them from continuing their wrongdoings."
"Yes, I'll have people keep an eye on it. They must be severely punished," Felix nodded firmly.
...
The entire Hort family prepared to welcome Felix at the Hort residence when they heard that he was bringing a very capable doctor. Although they had been disappointed many times before, they still held onto a glimmer of hope every time a new doctor arrived.
The Hort family consisted of four people—Dalton Hort, the patriarch, his wife, Melissa Wynn, and their two children, Matthew and Olivia Hort. They had all been waiting outside the door since early in the day.
When Felix and Demi got out of the car, the whole family was stunned, even more so when they saw how young Demi looked. Although Matthew had suspected that Demi was Felix's attending physician, he was still shocked.
"Let's go inside," Felix reminded them.
Only then did the Hort family snap out of it and gesture for Demi and Felix to enter.
"Mr. and Mrs. Hort, this is Dr. Demi Moon. Demi, this is Mr. and Mrs. Hort, their son Matthew, and their daughter Olivia," Felix introduced as they entered.
"Ah, Dr. Moone, please take a seat," Dalton said warmly.
Although Dalton and Melissa had many doubts in their minds, they didn't dare neglect the person Felix had brought.
This was what the Hort family members thought.
However, Felix, although surprised, trusted Demi. Since she said so, he believed she must have her reasons, even though he himself was a strong believer in logic and science.
"Mind if I go check your bedroom out?" Demi asked as she set down her teacup.
"No problem," Melissa quickly responded.
"Let's go then," Demi said as she stood up first. The others followed suit, with Dalton and Melissa leading the way up to the second floor.
They entered a large bedroom, and Demi walked over to the head of the bed, where there were two pillows stacked on top of each other.
