A Relentless Pursuit for Love novel Chapter 411

Chapter 411

Jace thought that he had already held onto them, but he did not realize that the ones that he held onto did not love him. He, however, had lost the one that truly loved him.

Freya explained slowly, “I was unwilling to admit it in the past. I was unwilling to admit my failure. I also was unwilling to admit that I was a loser in terms of relationships. In the end, it was just because I was unwilling to admit defeat that Lucas and I tormented each other for ten years. Now, I’m admitting it. I’ve lost. However, I did not lose to Luna. Instead, I’ve lost to myself.”

She looked toward Jace and asked, “My son, do you know why I was so against you and Sage getting a divorce back then? Firstly, it was because I knew that Sienna and her aunt, Luna, were the same. They’re bad news. Secondly, I was afraid that Sage would walk in my footsteps and waste her life on an unworthy marriage and a man who did not love her.”

Jace’s eyes wavered a little, and he looked emotional. A smile gradually appeared on Freya’s face as she spoke about Sage. “Sage’s character is much stronger than mine. She’s also more decisive than me. Her stance is evident when it comes to loving and hating someone. After she decided that she wanted to walk away, she didn’t want to drag it on any further.

“If I could’ve been like Sage and broke it off cleanly with your father back then, my legs wouldn’t have been broken. You also wouldn’t have hurt so deeply because of us that you don’t even know how to love a person anymore.”

Jace’s voice was hoarse as he softly called his mother, “Mom…”

Freya held back the misery in her eyes and patted Jace’s hand. “That’s why I’ve also figured it out. I won’t force you to get Sage back anymore in the future. If both of you can live your lives in peace on your own, that’ll be enough.”

“No.”

Since she could not love him anymore, he could love her instead. Freya looked straight at her son and decided that he did not look like he was lying. She could not help but smile.

“If you truly have such great ambition, I wholeheartedly support you! Our whole family will support you!”

Jace smiled as well. “Thanks, Mom.”

The sky was the same, but the night view was different. The sky was covered in stars in Nadeem City while it rained in Salem City continuously. The rain was rather heavy, and it seemed like it was about to flood the entire city. In such pouring rain, Sage rang the bell of the Jefferson’s Residence. It was a pity that her visit was refused. The helper gave Sage Wilson’s order without even letting her in. “I’m sorry, Miss Norah. Sir and madam have already gone to bed. They will not be accepting guests today. Please leave.” Sage’s face appeared a little pale under the black umbrella. The journey was tiring. She had been occupied for the whole day to the point that she had not even gotten to take a break, so she had long been exhausted. Her patience also wore thin. Her red lips moved a little. “I’m sorry. I’m not here to visit. I’m here to get someone out of here, so please pardon me.” As soon as she finished her sentence, Mister Wando had already barged in with a group of men in black and forcefully pried open the door to the Jefferson’s Residence. Sage yawned and entered unobstructed.
