Chapter 295 Standing in front of the cooking stove, she looked like a female warrior who was about to enter the battlefield. The ladle in her hand suddenly looked like a battle sword. She looked somewhat charismatic and intimidating.
Dean and Jim, on the other hand, acted as Sage’s sidekicks and did as they were told.
The food materials were prepared beforehand, hence Sage only had to cook them. By the time all the dishes were ready, her brothers arrived one by one.
The youngest among her brothers, Luther arrived first. He went to the airport to pick up Nigel Jett. He exclaimed at the delicious smell. “Damn, it smells amazing!”
Turning his head to look at Nigel, he said, “Nigel, what did I say? I told you that Sage was going to cook, didn’t I? See, I was right!” During their drive to the restaurant, Nigel and Luther already bickered with each other the entire time. Just when Nigel was about to say something, he saw Sage walking out of the kitchen. Beaming, he pulled into a wide grin, opened his arms, and said, “Come here, you little one! Hug me.” Grinning, Sage walked into Nigel’s arms. “Nigel, you’re quite late, aren’t you?” She added, “I’ve returned to Salem City for quite some time now, and I only get to see you now.”
“But I did send the rest of your brothers to see you, didn’t I?” smiled Nigel. Nigel and Luther looked quite alike. Big and clear eyes, a tall nose, sharp jawline, and broad shoulders. They were all a good-looking bunch. But they were different in the sense that Luther was the mischievous, playful type whereas Nigel was the gentle and elegant type.
However, Nigel naturally adored her a lot.
Nigel then tried to explain himself, “I was assigned several major surgeries and had to travel overseas a lot, that is why I couldn’t find the time to come to see you. If not, I would have visited you earlier.” “I understand that you’re busy with work at the hospital and everyone needs you.” Sage was not mad at him because she understood the responsibility that one had to bear as a doctor. Taking a look behind his back, she asked, “You came alone? What about Sean?” Nigel sulked, “Well, the big lawyer is much busier than me.” To Sage and Luther, Nigel looked like he was sulking like a little child. Both of them could not help but burst into laughter,
“Nah, who cares about him. It’s his loss for not being able to try your cooking. Here, look what we’ve got you for your birthday.”
Nigel passed an envelope to Sage excitedly, with a proud look on his face, he said, “We’ve thought about this long and hard and finally came up with this idea.”
Nigel looked like he waited for Sage to praise him. Staring at the envelope, Sage had no idea what was inside. A photo? A contract? A postcard? Luther who sneaked in a mouthful of dishes walked up to Sage, he was curious too.
Opening up the envelope, Sage took out the piece of document inside. It was neither a photo, a contract, nor a postcard. It was a …medical insurance policy. Luther was confused.
So was Sage.
Nigel, on the other hand, looked all pleased with himself. “I thought that you’re not lacking in anything, and the hospital just introduced new medical insurance and I thought of getting you one. So? Don’t you think that it’s practical and something out of the box?” Nigel still waited patiently for Sage to praise him.
Sage and Luther were rendered speechless.
“It’s not bad.” Sage quietly put back the papers into the envelope. She suddenly knew what she would wish for this year’s birthday.
Jim had just finished setting up the table and headed to the entrance. At the sight of Sage drifting in her new car, he let out a loud gasp in surprise that startled both Nigel and Luther,
With pride written all over his face, Luther said, “She’s cool, isn’t she? I get chills all over whenever I see her drifting.”
He then sighed softly, “It’s such a pity that she retired from street racing for quite a while
now.”
Jim could not seem to remove his eyes from Sage.
He thought to himself that Sage was way too gorgeous.
Jace arrived at Rosa Garden. He initially planned to book a table at Tasteful Restaurant to celebrate Sage’s dinner. But halfway through their drive to Bridge Lane, Zayne informed him that someone had booked the entire restaurant for the night.
With a hardened expression, Jace said, “I want it booked even if we have to offer ten times the price.” Zayne then tried to negotiate with the manager of the restaurant. “Sir, the manager said that it’s not a matter of the price. The restaurant is serving some WIP guests for the night and even if you were to offer a hundred times the price, you wouldn’t be able to get a table. They suggest that we change to another place or come back another day.” With a gloomy face, Jace pressed his lips tightly into a straight line. “We’ll go to Rosa Garden.”
