Chapter 148
Yoel and Jace were both from the special forces. Yoel knew for a fact that even it was an assault from behind and with a gunny sack wrapped around his head, Jace would still least struggle to defend himself.
Unless he knew it was a trap and still went for it.
Jace looked up at him lazily, “Did you think I purposely got myself hurt?”
“Normally you wouldn’t, but now it’s hard to tell. I heard someone got rejected by Sage tonight yet again.” Yoel teased him, “Maybe, who knows. You are trying to get some sympathy out of this. This is all too familiar to me, I did that before.”
Jace said, “I did what I had to.”
.
“A-hal I knew it!” said Yoel excitedly, “You’ve gone mad! Are you not afraid that you’ll lose your life? Trying to win Sage back like
that?
Jace said unfathomably, “These hooligans can’t harm me much.”
“It’s true, you do the stupidest things when it comes to your match, even someone so brilliant as you.” Yoel shook his head as he looked at the bruises all over Jace’s face.
Match… Jace thought that this word describes Sage best.
.
At the Skye Hotel, Luther was trying to block Sage out of her way and he begged, “Little sis, please don’t be angry, it was harmless.”
“Let go of me!” Sage kicked open the door and found Kane surrounded by a flock of girls. Every single one of them had a great shock and the room immediately went silent.
Sage stared at Kane and said in a low voice to the other girls, “Leave us be.”
The girls were now all looking at Kane as he place a cherry into his mouth, not saying a word. It was awkward.
Luther placed his palm on his forehead and signaled everyone else to leave with the other hand. As he closed the door, he said,” Please try to discuss this in peace.” Sage rushed over to Kane as she threw her fist at him and yelled, “Kane Hudson, what have you done!”
