A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust novel Chapter 804

Lisette knew nobody was going to help her, so she just went ahead and apologized to Sharon. No use making things worse for herself.

Apologizing was easy. Getting beat up, on the other hand, would hurt like hell.

“Let you go?” Sharon shook her head, grinning. “Why would I do that? I’m not some saint. You messed with me, and honey, I’m not about to just let that slide. You know what they say about mama bears—I gotta teach you a lesson!”

“And besides, even if I didn’t care about myself, I’d do it for Callie! You hurt her!”

Sharon didn’t bother wasting more words. She turned to Tanner, who was standing off to the side, and said, “Sweetie, step back, would ya? Let me handle this bitch.”

“Sure thing, babe. Just don’t hurt your hand. If you get tired, let one of your crew take over!” Tanner replied, looking at Sharon with adoration.

“Don’t worry, love. I got this!”

“I know you do. You’re the toughest girl ever—the toughest in the whole world!” he said, full of pride.

“No, no, I’m just second-toughest. The toughest is Callie!”

“You’re right, Callie’s number one!” Tanner nodded enthusiastically.

Lisette stood there, dumbfounded. These two were out of their minds! What the hell were they even talking about? And what exactly were they planning to do to her?

She was starting to lose it.

Lisette took a couple steps back, but that was as far as she could go. Sharon’s crop cracked through the air like lightning. It landed right on Lisette’s back.

The pain was blinding. Lisette couldn’t help but scream.

“Are you insane?!”

She’d thought Sharon was just trying to scare her. She never thought Sharon would actually whip her hard enough to make her skin welt and tears stream down her face.

Pretty soon, Lisette was curled up on the ground, every inch of her body aching. Tears streamed down her face as she glared up at Sharon in fury.

She could hear people around her whispering—everyone knew Sharon was a wild one, but with the kind of power she had, nobody dared mess with her.

Rumor had it, if she wanted someone gone, she had people who’d make sure nobody ever found the body.

Lisette knew how dangerous power like that could be. She could only grit her teeth and accept her bad luck for today. At least with all these witnesses, Sharon probably wouldn’t go too far.

Lisette swallowed her pain and decided to blame Calliope for all of this. She’d make sure to get her revenge.

Just then, Lisette felt someone step up close beside her. She instinctively looked up, only to see Calliope’s face.

She’d thought maybe someone from the Jewell family had come to help her, but no, it was Calliope herself.

“Calliope! What are you doing here? You coming to help her beat me up too?”
