A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust novel Chapter 742

“I know, right?” Calliope shrugged. “I said what needed to be said. Whether they have the kid or not, that’s their business.”

She did feel bad for the baby, but after seeing how Gideon and the others acted, she could tell they didn’t trust her one bit.

So, fine. If that’s how they wanted it, she’d just pretend she didn’t know anything.

“They kinda brought this on themselves anyway.” Silas frowned, clearly feeling a little sorry for the kid. “We can’t really do much. It’s up to them now. If they regret it later, that’s on them.”

Calliope’s tone was flat, almost dismissive. “Exactly.”

Suddenly, something seemed to click in her mind. She turned to Silas. “Let’s take a trip! And invite Uriah, too.”

Silas’s face immediately soured. “Why drag him along? I was hoping for some alone time with you, but now you want to call in the whole squad, including Uriah?”

Calliope grinned slyly. “I want to tell him that Norton’s planning to ask Mavis out.”

Silas looked completely thrown. “Wait, what? You’re trying to get a rise out of Uriah? Norton doesn’t even like Mavis, does he?”

“Nope,” Calliope replied with a little laugh. “Norton sees Mavis like a little sister. This is just for show.”

She suddenly shot Silas a sharp look. “I probably shouldn’t have told you all that. You’re not going to go blabbing to Uriah, are you?”

Silas quickly waved his hands in surrender. “No way! I’d never. I’m on your side, babe. If you say keep it quiet, my lips are sealed!”

Calliope finally relaxed. “Good.”

Calliope gave Silas a long look. “If Uriah screws this up and breaks Mavis’s heart, I’m totally blaming you too. You’re his best friend, so you’re obviously part of the problem!”

Silas groaned. “Come on, that’s not fair. You’d throw me under the bus for your bestie?”

“Mavis means a lot to me!” Calliope said seriously. “Guys come and go, but a best friend is forever.”

Silas’s jaw dropped. “Guys come and go? Wait, so I’m replaceable now?”

He put his hand to his heart. “Babe, that’s harsh. I thought I was one of a kind!”
