A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust novel Chapter 576

Under Lisette’s gentle persuasion, Monty and the others all agreed. She should be the one to save the dog. So, they put the dog in her room.

But the thing was, the dog had fleas and a nasty skin condition.

That night, Calliope’s room was suddenly crawling with fleas, and she even caught the dog’s rash herself.

No one in the Jewell family bothered to take her to a doctor. Instead, they told her she deserved it, that she and the dog were two of a kind.

Calliope had no idea what to do. In the end, she nursed herself and the dog back to health, and got rid of every last flea.

The dog ended up looking healthier and happier than ever. The two became inseparable. And then, predictably, Lisette grew jealous. One day, she poisoned the dog.

Calliope realized then. Silas was getting revenge for her. But what really caught her off guard was that he even knew about this. She’d never told anyone, not a soul.

How could Silas have found out? Did he dig into her past?

Calliope, almost on instinct, glanced over at Silas. He always seemed to know things. He was always standing up for her, and that made her feel strangely warm inside.

Lisette, meanwhile, clearly remembered the whole thing too. She stared at Silas in disbelief.

He’d been paying her back, tit for tat, over and over. It was driving her up the wall. But there was nothing she could do. Silas was terrifying. If she pushed back, who knew what he’d do?

Lisette didn’t dare argue. She was practically fuming inside. She just knew Silas wasn’t simply giving her a dog. Deep down, she suspected it was another sick animal, just like the one she’d brought home all those years ago.

But peering at the dog Silas brought, she had to admit, it looked perfectly fine.

Maybe she was overthinking it. Silas probably wouldn’t stoop to using a diseased dog for revenge. That would be beneath him.

“Fine,” Lisette bit out. “The dog can stay in my room. I’ll look after it. Happy?”

“Perfect,” Silas said, grinning as he patted the golden retriever beside him. “Goldie, go on, Her room is your room now!”
