"Callie, we need to talk!"
As soon as Fleur spotted Calliope, she reached out to grab her.
Calliope deftly stepped aside, dodging Fleur's grasp. She gave Fleur a puzzled look. "What do we have to talk about? I don’t think we have anything to chat about."
"I've got something really important to discuss. Just give me a little of your time."
Fleur's face was a picture of urgency as she continued, "Let's grab a coffee at that café over there. It's on me!"
Calliope glanced at Fleur, noting her desperate demeanor. She hesitated for a moment. Finally, she told Monty and the rest to go on ahead, while she headed to the café with Fleur.
Once they were seated, Fleur wasted no time and ordered two cups of coffee. Then, she looked up at Calliope. "Callie, we've known each other for years, and you and Gideon have a past. You used to be so in love with him."
"What are you implying? If you're trying to appeal to my emotions, don't bother. I have no feelings for him anymore."
Calliope leaned back calmly. She could sense Fleur was about to ask her for a favor. It had to be something regarding Yvette or Gideon.
Fleur's expression was grim, and she pressed her lips together, as if steeling herself for what was to come.
"You must know, Yvette might not be able to have children anymore! You're the Miracle Doctor, and even though you haven't seen her, you must know her condition isn't good after the miscarriage, right?"
"Callie, your medical skills are incredible. Is there any way you could help Yvette conceive again? Yvette's been threatening me, saying if Gideon tries to have a child with someone else, she'll make sure that kid never sees the light of day.
She's causing chaos, and I can't introduce Gideon to any other woman. If that's the case, why not help her have another child? She wouldn't harm her own, right? Once she has another baby, and I have a say over that child, she won't be able to do anything."
Fleur's eyes narrowed, a dangerous glint in them.
Calliope frowned at Fleur. "Given her condition, it's really difficult for her to conceive. Her body could be treated, but there's no guarantee it would fully recover, or that the situation would improve."
"I don't care, as long as she can get pregnant!" Fleur insisted, "I'll pay you. Whatever it costs, I'll cover it!"
