A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust novel Chapter 428

After Verity finished speaking, she offered Calliope a few comforting words.

Meanwhile, the big screen in the grand hall kept looping the footage of Yvette pulling Calliope into the stairwell, having that heated conversation, and then tumbling down the stairs herself. In the video, it was clear Calliope hadn't even touched Yvette.

Everyone could see it: Yvette had orchestrated the whole scene. In her twisted scheme to frame Calliope, Yvette had risked everything, including the life of her unborn child.

Moreover, from their conversation, it was apparent that the child's viability was questionable; the doctors had advised a termination. Yet, she chose to keep the pregnancy, solely to set up Calliope.

The guests around were buzzing with whispers.

"That woman is downright wicked!"

"Can you believe Gideon married someone like her? Giving up Calliope for that woman is just ridiculous!"

"Completely insane!"

"See, that's why I always say, marry someone from your own league! They thought they could use this to blackmail the Baker family, what a joke!"

"Yvette thinks she's so clever, but she has no idea!"

"Ms. Jewell sure lives up to her name. She must have seen this coming and prepared the footage in advance, right?"

"Exactly! Without this, she'd have been framed for sure!"

The guests' gazes toward Calliope changed, now filled with admiration.

Yvette's face turned a shade of furious green. She had planned meticulously to take Calliope down in one stroke. But here she was, her plan backfired spectacularly.

Now fully exposed, she wondered how the Baker family would perceive her. She instinctively glanced over at Gideon and Fleur.

Fleur, initially harboring resentment towards Calliope—believing that regardless of the circumstances, Calliope should have never harmed her precious grandchild—stood frozen, watching the footage.

Then she turned to look at Yvette. Never had she felt such frustration. Already dissatisfied with Yvette, and now, on what should have been a joyous wedding day, this fiasco erupted, all because of Yvette's own machinations.

Calliope had clearly tried to talk sense into her multiple times, but Yvette refused to listen.

"Yvette, you fool!" Fleur exclaimed, exasperated.
