A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust novel Chapter 1034

“And she’s Silas Myers’s wife?” Miranda’s voice crept up in disbelief. “What on earth was your family thinking? Did they really think you could get away with offending someone like her? The Jewell family might look impressive among regular people, but in the world of real power, you barely register. And no one thought to get on her good side?”

She let out a laugh, equal parts exasperation and disbelief. “Any idiot would know dropping the adopted daughter was the right move. But no, your family decided to shield that useless girl and, in the process, pissed off Calliope. Even after seeing firsthand how capable she is, you just kept doubling down.”

“Are you all out of your minds?” Miranda said, shooting a suspicious glance at Ulysses. “What were you thinking? Do you honestly believe your family did the right thing?”

Ulysses shook his head. “I want her forgiveness, but not because of who she is or what she’s achieved. I just know we were all in the wrong. Still, it’s obvious she’s never going to forgive me.” He let out a long, defeated sigh. “When it comes down to it, this is all our fault. She’d be completely justified never to let it go—even if she spent her whole life paying us back. If she wants to make our lives miserable, she’s got every right.”

Miranda was silent for a moment, lost for words. Then she groaned. “God. And on top of all that, Julius—he’s her brother, right? So odds are, she’s the one who made his career too! Of all the people to cross, why would you pick her?”

“I even tried sounding out the director,” Miranda went on. “He said you could risk offending almost anyone but her. But you—somehow you managed to get on her bad side before you were even adults. Honestly, it’s a miracle you’re still in the cast.”

She pinched the bridge of her nose, looking like she was drowning in secondhand stress. This was family drama on a level she had no idea how to begin to unravel.
