"Change it with another one."
"How can you say that? You said anything was OK."
Everly looked at Maverick. If Maverick agreed, he would suffer a lot. If he did not agree, he wouldn't be a man of his word.
"Let's talk about it after we get back home."
Maverick put it vaguely and Everly could tell that he was only being perfunctory. Everly had stepped on Maverick's "bottom line".
But at the very least, Maverick did not reject him bluntly. Everly couldn't believe that she even felt content when all Maverick did was not reject her at once. The longer Everly had been with Maverick, the more easily she could feel content.
Everly had made the request on purpose. Maverick couldn't control his sexual desire at all. Every time they did it, Everly felt exhausted and even terrified in the face of Maverick, who seemed to be horny all the time.
In fact, the two were in harmony when having sex. If Maverick hadn't done it so frequently ... Everly could feel her face burning as she thought about it.
Everly must have been influenced by Maverick.
In a daze, Everly followed Maverick's footsteps and was brought to the first floor by him.
When Elenore saw the two walking down side by side, she only felt a sting. She would never admit that this kind of scene was actually unexpectedly harmonious.
Elenore couldn't tell Maverick's change in his photo. Was that change due to Everly? Did Everly have such a great impact on Maverick?
Maverick, who was holding Everly, was no longer cold and indifferent. He seemed to be warmer and milder. He didn't look less handsome, only more attractive.
Maverick was completed. He had become the man that Elenore had always been dreaming of. Yet it seemed that Maverick's change had nothing to do with Elenore after all.
Elenore felt torn, drowned in bitterness and jealousy. Yet she just couldn't look away.
Elenore claimed to be just friends with Maverick, yet when she saw him being with Everly, Elenore knew that she was just trying to fool herself.
Elenore stopped Maverick. "Are you leaving now? It's rare that you come here. Why don't you stay with me for a meal?"
"A kind reminder. You may have forgotten something, but I can't."
Maverick didn't have to say it bluntly. He couldn't make his point clearer and Elenore knew what he was talking about.
All Elenore's efforts had been in vain. At first, she wasn't completely convinced. If Maverick still saw Elenore as a friend, he would have paid for the meal. Yet what Maverick had just said was making a strong point that Elenore should keep a distance from Maverick.
Maverick was indeed cruel to people he didn't care about. He couldn't give Elenore a second chance, yet he could tolerate Everly over and over again.
Why Everly?
Elenore could only adopt a business-like attitude. There was no anger on her face. She stroked her hair with her fingers. When she opened her mouth, her tone and expression were both natural. "Well, I will ask my secretary to book an appointment with your secretary tomorrow. Then I will see when you are available. Then we will talk about Candy. She's such a young child. Her father doesn't get heated, but I do."
However, Everly would not sympathize with Elenore. Elenore asked for it.
There were always some people who, in the name of love, interfered with other people's lives, but never cared about their true thoughts. Was that love? That was selfishness under the guise of love.
"Maverick, what about your ambition? What about your dream? It turns out that when it comes to love, you are nothing as well. I misjudged you!"
Elenore walked out. She was no longer as excited as she was when she first entered the house.
Elenore walked very fast and accidentally sprained her ankle when she was walking down the stairs. Even Everly felt pain for her when she saw it, but Elenore just strode into the car without looking back.
If Elenore didn't walk away as soon as possible, Elenore was afraid that she would hear something even harsher.
Maverick's dreams and ambitions had nothing to do with Elenore from the beginning to the end. It was just that Elenore was desperate to be part of his life.
"Are you mad?"
Maverick was worried that Everly would be affected.
Everly smiled, revealing her white teeth. "Why should I? Didn't you hear that? She was praising me. She scolded me for stopping you from realizing your dream. Isn't that what pretty women do? She was saying that I'm pretty."
Maverick lovingly kissed Elenore's cheek and his ambiguous breath fell on her earlobe. "You are a naughty woman."
