A Pigeon Pair: Sweetheart, Let's Get Married novel Chapter 306

Everly felt slightly sad when she heard this name. After all, Jack helped her during her hardest time. Everly wanted to return Jack's kindness, but it was a pity that there was no chance to do that.

Because of Zane, Everly was forced to stop what Jack had told her to do.

Everly wanted to keep on inquiring, but she gave up at the glance of Edmond's pale face.

At least for now, Everly couldn't go anywhere, because Edmond couldn't stand up to disturbance and needed a long time to recover.

The healthy growth of a child is the greatest wish of a mother.

Edmond laid in Everly's arms and felt at ease beside his mother. Edmond was in a familiar room with all lights on. He told himself there was nothing to be afraid of for a man.

Everly asked, "Can you tell me why you said you didn't dare to do it in your dream? Did anyone scare you?"

Edmond pinched a corner of Everly's pajamas. Fear flashed across his eyes and then Edmond clenched his fists. "I dreamed that uncle Jack looked at me silently, as if he was about to cry. Later, I dreamed of the bad guys who took me last time. They took me to the black house and didn't let me do anything. Otherwise, they would hit me."

Zane was not a gentleman for sure. Although Zane would not abuse Edmond, he was not good. Moreover, it was a group of people who only wanted to complete the task and disliked children. They must have threatened Edmond. So Edmond would dream of them when he became less alert.

"It's all right, Mom." Edmond comforted Everly and touched her forehead with his little hands. "It's just a dream. Dreams are all fake."

Everly asked, "Why do you say that?"

Edmond said, "Because I wish Uncle Jack well." Uncle Jack in his dream wore tattered clothes and was scared, unhappy and abnormal.

Everly lowered her eyes to cover the sadness. She softly said, "Jack went to a good place and will live a good life."

Everly believed that Jack would go to heaven, and kindness was his pass.

Edmond drank some water and felt more comfortable. He asked, "When will Candy come back? I miss her so much."

...

Hendrix made some time to visit Edmond after he heard about Edmond's sickness. He valued Edmond who was his only nephew.

When Hendrix arrived, he was not surprised that Maverick was not at home.

"Maverick should be very busy during this time," Hendrix said.

Maverick just took over the Lamont family, and his personality would push him to do his best.

Although Hendrix felt that all men should be like this, he worried about his younger sister who supported Maverick behind.

"Why doesn't Maverick come back earlier since his son is sick?" Hendrix was displeased.

"You can't blame Maverick because he doesn't know that. You should blame me." Everly had no grievance against Maverick because she was always independent and knew Maverick's heavy workload. She loved Maverick and naturally hoped to ease the burden for him.

"Later, I will tell Maverick and send more people to protect you." Hendrix patted Everly's hair. He always felt that Everly was still a little girl. But the little troublemaker chasing behind Hendrix had now become the mother of a child. "In the future, no one will say that you are an unsuitable match for Maverick. Instead, you and Maverick are a perfect match."

Everly was surprised and touched by Hendrix's words. Everly shook her head. "Hendrix, I don't care about what others say. I just wish all the people I love well. The gossip is actually out of jealousy. Anyone who stands beside Maverick will be attacked. Women's jealousy is very unreasonable."

"However, I believe that you must succeed." Everly made a gesture to cheer Hendrix up.

Maverick is omnipotent in Everly's heart.

Maverick almost paid no attention to Zane, because the most important thing to him was the charge of the Lamont Group.

But Zane came back to the company immediately after he was freed of suspicion.

Zane deliberately wore an artificial leg and did not use a wheelchair. Countless eyes were fixed on Zane, but no one could sense disappointment and dejection of failure from him.

Zane and Maverick met in the corridor. Maverick was not surprised to see Zane and just glanced at him.

Zane watched Maverick walking into the elevator surrounded by a group of people. In contrast, Zane appeared to be weak and isolated.

Zane knew he had no position in this company. Zane came here to remind Maverick of the contract that he had signed.

The force in Italy had already targeted Zane. Zane knew it was a double-edged sword.
