The following day.
Erica had just finished her shift and was driving out of the garage when she spotted Wesley standing there, clutching a bouquet of flowers.
She rolled down her window, leaned out, and asked, "Looking for me?"
Wesley nodded, his eyes darting across her face, his hands damp with sweat despite the cold winter air.
Erica noticed the bouquet and couldn't help but tease, "Who's the lucky girl you’re buying flowers for? Need some advice?"
Wesley glanced at her, looking a bit guilty, the flowers suddenly feeling much heavier in his hands as cars behind them started honking impatiently.
She waved at the cars to wait and turned to Wesley, "Hop in."
Wesley got into the passenger seat, shut the door, and tried to appear nonchalant as he asked, "Do you think all girls like flowers?"
Erica glanced at the roses in his hand. They were a bit old-fashioned, but typical of his straightforward taste. She smiled, "Unless they're allergic to pollen, most girls do like flowers."
Just then, Erica’s phone, mounted on the dashboard, rang.
Wesley instinctively looked at the caller ID: 【Mike (Heart)】, his brow furrowing slightly.
Erica answered and put it on speaker. Logan's playful voice filled the car, "Babe, are you off work?"
"Yeah, just got off. What's up?" she replied.
"Mr. Thompson has a dinner tonight. Wanna go?" Logan asked.
Erica thought for a moment, sounding tired, "Not really, I'm a bit exhausted today."
"Anytime you have a relationship question, just ask me, okay?" she offered.
"Okay." Wesley forced a smile, opened the door, and got out.
After the door closed, Erica noticed Wesley’s flowers left on the seat. She quickly stopped the car, picked up the roses, and ran after him, calling out, "Wesley, you forgot your flowers!"
Wesley stopped, turned around, and looking at the roses in her hands, said softly, "Actually, these flowers are for you."
Erica paused for a moment before realizing he was confessing his feelings.
"Erica, I..." Wesley took a deep breath, gathering all his courage, "I like you, I've always liked you! It's never changed, from the past to now!"
"Wesley, you..." Just as Erica was about to speak, they were interrupted by the sound of hurried footsteps.
