Upon hearing the news, Camila instantly panicked, "What? A leak? I'll be right back!"

Connor sighed, their movie plans dashed.

"Connor, there’s a leak at my place, I need to head back now!" Camila exclaimed, practically dragging a reluctant Connor along.

They hurried back to Camila's apartment, only to find the hallway a chaotic mess, water cascading down the stairs, and curious neighbors gathered around, gossiping.

Camila anxiously pushed her door open and gasped. Her apartment looked like a small lake, with furniture and floors completely soaked.

"What...what happened here?" Camila frowned, surveying the scene.

While Camila discussed the leak with the building manager and landlord in the living room, Connor quietly slipped into the bathroom.

The faucet was dry, indicating the water had been shut off.

He quickly turned off the tap, unplugged the sink, and kicked the wet towels to one side. The water immediately began to drain, and the standing water in the bathroom started to recede rapidly.

"Oh dear, the floor is completely soaked!" The landlord's wife frowned, clearly upset and frustrated.

She had taken quite a liking to Camila, even considering setting her up with her son, as Camila was such a quiet and pretty girl.

As she complained, the landlord's wife looked around at the water-damaged floors, her expression one of distress.

She remembered when Camila had rented the apartment, assuring her she was single. Yet, it hadn't been long before Camila had brought a boyfriend home, and now her property was in shambles.

The landlord's wife's mood worsened.

She looked at Camila, her expression growing complex.

Camila nodded apologetically.

"You don’t know how, let me handle it." Camila pulled her hand away, eager to dry the floor.

"I'll call someone professional; stop worrying about it." Connor made a phone call.

Soon, a team of professionals arrived, adeptly handling various tools and quickly clearing the water and damaged furniture.

"The floor itself is quite old and the water damage is severe; it needs to be completely replaced," one of the workers concluded after inspecting the floor.

"But with the continuous rain lately and high humidity, we’ll need to wait for better weather to ensure everything is dry before replacing the floor."

Connor’s lips twitched into a brief smile before he regained his composure and turned to Camila.

"Cami, you can’t stay here for now. Pack some essentials and move into my place for the time being."
