The trio approached the edge of the village.
Cole and Claire were surprised to see neighbors clustered around a car, chattering animatedly.
Camila’s brow furrowed instantly.
“Wow, whose car is this? It’s so luxurious!” a middle-aged woman couldn’t help but exclaim.
“Yeah, I’ve never seen such a fancy car before!” a young man nearby chimed in.
“This car must be worth a fortune, right? When did such a wealthy person come to our village?” another neighbor speculated curiously.
“It’s more than just expensive!” Someone added, “It’s a stretched Rolls-Royce! Look at that license plate. It’s a good combo!”
Cole glanced at the luxury car, looked around, and asked, “Cami, where’s your company car?”
Camila gave an awkward smile and pointed at the only car in front.
“This…” Cole and Claire exchanged glances.
Claire hadn’t expected her daughter to have borrowed such a luxurious car.
Young, spotting Camila from outside the crowd, immediately got out and opened the car door.
“Mom, Cole, let’s go,” Camila said.
The three of them got into the car under the watchful eyes of everyone.
“Claire, this car… it’s incredible!” a familiar neighbor approached and asked.
Claire smiled slightly and explained, “It’s not ours. It belongs to my daughter’s company. She just borrowed it.”
“Oh, I see. I thought some big shot had moved to our village,” the neighbor said, realizing the situation.
“Sorry, we have to go,” Camila said.
People stepped aside, and Young started the engine.
As the Rolls-Royce roared softly and pulled away, it left behind a trail of envious and amazed gazes from the neighbors.
The car pulled up at the hospital entrance, and Young politely opened the door for them.
Camila guiltily lowered her head. She had been negligent.
“Let’s start treatment. We’ll devise an appropriate plan to control the condition as soon as possible,” the doctor reassured.
Claire, noticing the worried looks on her daughter’s and Cole’s faces, gently held their hands. “Don’t worry. I’ll be fine.”
The hospital admission process was quick, and Claire was settled into a clean, comfortable room.
The doctor outlined a detailed treatment plan and informed her of the precautions she needed to take.
“Cami, go back to work. I’ll be fine here,” Claire told her daughter.
She knew her daughter was busy at work, and she didn’t want Camila to fall behind because of her illness.
“No, Mom. I can’t leave you like this.” Camila firmly shook her head.
“I’m really okay. I can move around, and there are plenty of doctors and nurses here. You don’t need to worry,” Claire tried to reassure her.
“But the doctors and nurses aren’t with you all the time. What if your IV runs out or something unexpected happens?” Camila expressed her concerns.
