A Mate for the Latecomer novel Chapter 43

I saw her sitting on my bed crying with my hands entwine together with hers

"Eric" she sobs "I can't" but I hushes her up with my fingertips to her chin tilting up to face me.

"Promise you'll wait for me" I told her and she was still sobbing.

"Please" I saw myself begging her then she nods saying yes while in tears. Suddenly I lean forward and kiss her on the lips. She must be the woman I love seeing the way I cherish that kiss before my own chest rise and fall slowly then finally I die.

I scream waking up from the same nightmare I been having every night.

I was both sweating and panted heavily 'why am I always the one to die in that dream?' I ask my wolf but all he says he doesn't know too.

Not wanting to go back to sleep afraid to have the same nightmare I pull on my basketball short and immediately went out of the house for a run. Once I reaches the horizon at the end of my pack in the east border I sat down thinking of the nightmares I have been having since I turn sixteen.

Me dying before a woman whom I do not know of, whom I never met in my entire life and it's not like I have seen her face. Since the only thing I could clearly see was myself but the woman was all a blur to my vision.

The nightmare has pretty much impacted on my dating life, every woman I meet and thought to be the one always ended in bad terms. I always walk away from them as the nightmares was haunting me.

The thought of my mate, I never wanted to think of it because I might turn up to be a failure for her, doing the same thing I did with others. I don't want to hurt her like I have hurt others and I know she deserves someone better than me, than this broken, cold hearted on the outside but a scared Alpha.

I rested there meditating to myself before I return back to the Pack border.

I pass by some of my warriors on duty, some has just clock out and some are beginning for the day.

"Alpha" they greeted me in unison "good day warriors"

I smile at them patting on a young warrior's back. He was young to be on duty "why are you here?" I ask the young lad who is fourteen "Alpha I want to learn."

He seems nervous thinking I am mad but kids like him are rarely the ones to be encounter with. Yet I don't encourage them to be warriors in that young age. They need to live their life and enjoy every moment of their younger years before committing to something big like this.

I didn't want them to miss out on the things that I have missed out on, they do have options but as for I well I didn't have any as I was the future Alpha in that young age.

Therefore, in my pack young teens began their training at age fifteen, and they are warriors once they mature enough let's say at age 19 and some around twenty. They needed the other extra year to look for their own mate.

I smile nodding my head "are you sure you don't want to enjoy your freedom as a young energetic youth?"

"I am sure I also have time for that Alpha."

"Milly, Dana not now" Milly is younger than Dana "I hate your Beta" Dana complains sitting on my bed.

Milly shyly move and sat beside her sister, both of them are opposite from each other but once the other is hurt the other will always be there with one another.

I have taken them both under my guidance when both my uncle and his wife died along together with my parents in the hunters' attack which took place eleven years ago. I never take them as my cousins but rather my two beautiful sisters who always knows how to brighten my days and kills my mood sometimes.

"Not now Dana" I told her again "I told you not to date him but still you insist on dating him saying he must be your mate. So what now?" she sniffles and Milly pull out a handkerchief from her pocket giving it to her sister making my wolf hearts swell with pride.

It always breaks my heart to see my sisters like this so I moved and sat on my hunches before them but I know I have to deal with her and Lucian later.

"Hey I promise after my meeting today then will talk okay" they both nodded their head and I kisses on their forehead before going to my office.

Lucian links to me again of our guest but I take my time in sorting out some papers before going out to greet the members of the Alcaders Pack. It was weird to smell roses and frangipanis altogether, it wasn't normal but highly addictive that it made me feel like a drunk person. I move to open up the door and the smell was getting stronger.

It was sort of déjà vu like this has been happening before. Once it's open the smell overwhelms me and there she was the source of the smell standing there with her eyes fixed on the house.

Then she looks at me, my world stops and we both stare at each other, amazingly my wolf Zhippa howls mate.
