The next morning, Jack headed to Tarthy City with Emily and Quintis.
On the second day in Tarthy City, Trent visited them with his wife and Wilhelmina and then headed toward the Royal King Hotel.
This meeting was not only for Quintis and Trent to catch up as old friends. The greater purpose was for Jack and Wilhelmina to meet more frequently and deepen their relationship.
Wilhelmina never wanted to come. Her disdain toward Jack had transformed into fear.
She thought Jack was a monster, especially with his hidden identity and terrifying capabilities. She was inexplicably terrified.
However, she eventually came under her father's stern request and her mother's pleading. She knew she couldn't avoid this any longer. She had to face Jack at some point.
When they arrived at the Lycan Estate, Quintis welcomed them at the entrance with Emily and Jack. The bond between fathers wouldn't be swayed because of a few sharp words or friction between their children.
After bringing the Dodgers into the house, Quintis and Trent discussed the candidates for the new mayor.
The mayoral elections in Tarthy City had reached a fever pitch, and by all accounts, Nelson's uncle, Gerard, seemed poised for victory. If Gerard was elected as Tarthy City's mayor, it would potentially change the landscape in Tarthy City.
Although the Sandalwood Group wielded massive power and influence, practically dominating the entire industry, there was still reason to tread carefully. After all, a city's mayor was the official guardian of its people.
Logically speaking, almost all the candidates running for mayor in Tarthy City would pay Quintis a visit as he was terrifyingly influential in Tarthy City. But since Gerard did not visit, Quintis had to confront the impact of him coming to power in Tarthy City and whether it would affect the Sandalwood Group.
However, Quintis was merely overthinking. No one in Tarthy City was able to overthrow his power.
That night, the high society in Tarthy City organized a banquet. It was hosted by one of the wealthiest tycoons in Tarthy City.
In the past, Wilhelmina might have turned it down with pride, holding her head high in dignified refusal. But now, in front of Jack, even the last shreds of her pride had been trampled underfoot. The gulf in strength between them was too wide.
She no longer had the right to be so prideful. She had nothing to boast about in front of Jack.
"Take it. This is just an ordinary gift. Don't think too much of it," Emily said as she put the bracelet on Wilhelmina's wrist.
Wilhelmina tried taking it off, but Kelsey persuaded her otherwise, saying, "It's a gift. Please take it."
Then, she held Wilhelmina's hand tightly, not letting her take it off.
Truth be told, all the Dodgers approved of this marriage except Wilhelmina. After all, a union between the Lycans and the Dodgers would undoubtedly propel both to even greater heights.
