What was Phoebe disappointed about? Was it his character? Or something else? Jack had no clue.
After returning to his dorm, Jack tossed and turned on his bed. He wanted to call Phoebe, but after contemplating for a long time, he eventually sent her a message.
"I acted too rashly today. I'm sorry!"
Although he didn't mean his apology, comforting Phoebe was necessary.
He thought Phoebe would ignore him, but to his surprise, she replied quickly, "Let what happened today be behind us. Let's not speak of it again."
Phoebe replied with a voice message. Her tone was flat, but it carried her usual tenderness.
Jack replied with a text, "Are you still angry?"
"No. After all, I'm partly responsible."
He never thought Phoebe would feel responsible for it. It sounded like she was blaming herself. How was she responsible for any of this?
Of course, she had invited Jack for a walk by the lake, which led to Jack taking advantage of her. She was breathtakingly beautiful. No normal man could resist her.
A sly thought flickered through Jack's mind. He nearly wrote a text to thank Phoebe for being his true kindred spirit, suggesting they take another walk by the lake sometime.
However, he reined himself in and replied, "So, you won't start avoiding me now, will you?"
