Still, some uncertainty lingered in the group. After all, what they were hearing sounded a little too exaggerated.
Charlotte shook her head and said seriously, "Quit joking around. I really think we should call for help, just in case there's trouble."
With that, she quickly pulled out her phone and made a call.
Although she knew Jack could fight, she still hoped it wouldn't come to that. What if he got hurt? Even if he took down all of them, the slightest injury wouldn't be worth it.
Besides, Nelson and the others clearly came for revenge. After suffering that kind of humiliation, there was no way they'd show mercy if things turned physical.
The bodyguards backing Nelson, Wilhelmina, and Cody were former military or trained professionals. Right now, they were here as enforcers, helping their bosses to take revenge.
It was better to be safe than sorry. Charlotte decided it was best to bring in reinforcements too.
Neil thought about it and agreed. Why should they take a risk if they already had the upper hand?
Just as he was about to step back, Nelson suddenly waved his hand and bellowed, "There they are. Surround them!"
Suddenly, more than a dozen bodyguards rushed forward, encircling Jack and his group and cutting off their escape.
But Jack and the others didn't panic. They simply stopped and waited to see what Nelson and Wilhelmina were planning.
Nelson strutted forward, casually lit a cigarette, and asked, "What's wrong? Not running anymore? I'd like to see where you think you can escape to now."
He seemed confident, as if Jack and the others were already trapped.
Charlotte hung up the phone and asked sternly, "What exactly are you trying to do?"
