Rejected, Amelia's face froze slightly. Biting her lip, she suddenly said, "Do you know? Alex and I broke up."

Jack furrowed his eyebrows, thinking how Amelia breaking up with Alex had anything to do with him.

However, seeing the eagerness in Amelia's eyes and the hidden anticipation within them, Jack would have to be genuinely oblivious not to understand the implicit message Amelia was trying to convey.

Yet, Jack chose to stay silent.

Amelia knew this was how it would end. She walked to Jack's side and asked softly, "Don't you want to know why I broke up with him?"
