Ryan's expression darkened. He hadn't expected Mia to be so defiant. If they weren't in such a public setting, he would have slapped her by now.

Yet, Mia showed no concern for how her hysterics might doom Ellen Games. She continued rambling about calling the police to arrest Jack.

Finally, a staff member from the banquet hall approached and asked, "Who is it that has snuck into the banquet hall without credentials?"

What a joke. This was a high-level summit attended by industry elites and government officials. The security personnel had to ensure absolute safety.

Before Mia or Thomas could say anything, Ryan—desperate to distance himself—immediately pointed at them and said, "Officer, it's the two of them! They sneaked in to eat and drink for free, and I suspect they were trying to steal something."

Mia and Thomas were completely stunned. They never expected Ryan to throw them under the bus.

After all, they had entered the event as executives of Ellen Games. If Ryan reported them and revoked their credentials, they would be finished.

But Ryan frantically shook his head. "Officer, I don't know them at all. I have no connection with them. They must have impersonated Ellen Games employees to sneak in. Please remove them immediately."

Mia's expression changed drastically. "Mr. Carter, how could you do this? We work for you!"

Then, as if nothing had happened, Ryan, who had just "escaped to the restroom", miraculously reappeared.

He approached Jack and bowed slightly in apology. "Mr. Holland, I sincerely apologize. I failed to recognize you earlier and even offended you. Please forgive me for my mistakes."

Jack smiled and replied, "You're too polite. Did we have any misunderstandings before?"

Hearing this, Ryan thought Jack had forgiven him. He quickly took the opportunity to bring up Ellen Games' collaboration proposal.
